How to add a custom carrier to the system.

The Custom Carrier option allows a developer to build a customer connection for a carrier that does not yet have a native integration with Logiwa. If you're interested in creating a custom carrier connection for Logiwa, this step-by-step guide will walk you through the beginning of the process. This process alone is not enough to add a custom carrier to Logiwa. Once you complete these steps, you can learn more about the next steps here.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • To begin, navigate to the Data Setup screen.

  • Select Custom Carrier from the left sidebar.

  • Click on Create New button.

    • You can also Update or Delete an existing custom carriers from the same screen.

  • The Create Custom Carrier sidebar will open.

  • In the General section, fill in the Carrier Code and Carrier Name. They can be identical.

    • Optionally, you can also enter a URL with the carrier's log in the Logo URL field. Please keep in mind that Logiwa does not host images.

  • Click Next to continue to the Services section.

  • Provide the Service Code and Service Name for any services you will be using with the carrier. For example, Ground, First Class, or Next Day services. Click Add to add these to the services list.

    • Click the 3-Dots menu to delete the services you've added.

  • Next, click to the Package section.

  • Provide the Package Code and Package Name for the types of packages you need to define for this carrier. For example, first class envelopes, priority boxes, or boxes of a particular size. Click Add to add these to the services list.

    • Click the 3-Dots menu to changes to the packages you've added.

  • Finally, click to the Advanced section.

  • You can now provide any Confirmation Types, Insurance Types and/or Billing Types by entering the name of them and clicking Add in the relevant field.

  • To remove any types that you've added, click the Delete (X) next to the one you wish to delete.

  • After you have added all the relevant information, click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

  • You can now view the custom carrier you created in the Custom Carriers list.
