Shipping one by one is easy to do with Logiwa, but why stop there? By creating a workflow with auto shipment enabled, you can simplify the shipping process, saving you time and effort. This article will show you howl; just click the sections below to learn more.

Create Workflow

To activate auto shipping, you'll first need to create a workflow with the auto shipment action. If you'd like more information about workflows before beginning, please see this article. This section will walk you through setup.

  • To begin, navigate to the Workflows screen.

  • Click Create Workflow, then select Shipment Order as the workflow type.

  • Enter the name of your workflow in the Name box.

  • You can select either When Shipment Order is Created or When Shipment Order is Updated for the trigger, depending on your business needs.

  • You can select any of the following conditions to be used with auto shipment:

    • Client

    • Order Type

    • Order Tag

    • Carrier

    • Store

    • Shipment Order Priority

    • Shipment Method

    • Warehouse

  • Select the condition(s) that are right for auto shipment in your operations.

  • You can now add the Use Auto-Shipment (Only for Ready to Ship Orders) action.

  • Click Save to create your new workflow.

  • Continue to the next section to read about the auto shipment process flow.

Auto Shipment Process Flow

First, follow the steps in the previous section to create an auto ship workflow. In order for this process to work, the action of this workflow should be Use Auto-Shipment (Only for Ready to Ship Orders).

Once the workflow has been triggered, the system will select eligible orders for auto-shipment.

Order Selection (Eligible Orders for Shipment)

To be auto shipped, an order should:

  1. Meet the workflow conditions.

  2. Not have any pending tasks (Ready to Pick, Picking Started, Ready to Pack, Packing Started statuses should be eliminated).

  3. Not be in the Open, Shortage, On Hold, Canceled, or Shipped status.

If these three criteria are met, the orders that are selected for shipment will be flagged with a new parameter called isAutoShip?. This parameter can be seen on the Shipment Order table as well.

  • The system checks all orders each minute, and for the orders that are flagged as isAutoShip: Yes, the following logic applies:

    • The system checks the Shipment Order Type of the order.

      • If Allow Shipment Without Label is enabled, the system will check all tasks for the order and find the latest actualFinishDateTime. To ship the order, it must be at least 15 minutes past the actualFinishDateTime when compared to the Workflow Trigger Date-Time.

      • If Allow Shipment Without Label is disabled, the system will check all labels generated for the order and find the latest createdDateTime. To ship the order, it must be at least 15 minutes past the createdDateTime of the label when compared to the Workflow Trigger Date-Time.

Orders that are ready to be shipped will be shipped automatically, and Send Shipment Info will be triggered to stores once the order has the Shipped status.
