Overview
This article covers how to use the Blocked List feature in Neatoscan and how it functions. Due to the user permissions set up for your account, the interface of your Settings and Blocked List page may vary from the one shown in this article.
What is the Blocked list?
In the Neatoscan settings, the blocked list feature enables you to prevent certain items from being listed during the pre-scanning process. You can block the following attributes using the blocked list:
ISBN: The ISBN of any book or barcoded item works with the blocked list.
Title: The Title of any book or item works with the blocked list.
Asterisk Symbol (*): The asterisk (*) symbol acts as a wildcard in search queries. Placing an asterisk (*) before a keyword (e.g., "Habits") excludes titles ending with that keyword, like "Atomic Habits." Placing it after a keyword (e.g., "Habits*") excludes titles starting with that keyword, such as "Habits Journal."
Publisher: The publisher can be blocked using the blocked list if set in the Publisher tab in the blocked list settings.
Adding Items to the Blocked List
From Inventory Manager, go to Settings.
Click on the Blocked List tab.
Enter an ISBN or Title in the textbox.
Click Save.
Removing Items from the Blocked List
You can remove items from the Blocked List by deleting them, similar to editing text in a document. Find the item you want to remove and use the cursor and backspace key to delete it, then click Save.
π‘Tip: If you have a big blocked list, cut and paste your list from Neatoscan to a spreadsheet or document editor, then use the find feature (CTRL +F) to remove specific items. Once these changes are made, copy and paste it back into Neatoscan.
