Donors are flocking to your website to make gifts – what happens next? How will those contributions end up in your organization's bank account?
To determine how your organization will receive its donations, you must confirm where these donations were made and what payment processor was used for those transactions.
Step 1: Confirm where the donations were made
Typically, you will find incoming donations are made from your 'Fundraising Pages', especially if you have linked your Giving Site Homepage to your organization’s website.
However, there are a few other places where folks can make donations in support of your organization:
a) Walmart: If you have ever shopped online at Walmart, you may have been prompted to round your total up and donate to a local charity. Through our partnership with Walmart, we process and disburse those rounded-up funds to organizations like yours.
b) NFG Give: Donors familiar with our software may donate through our legacy NFG Giving site. This website allows donors to search across an extensive list of 501(c)(3) organizations and make a gift – regardless of whether or not their chosen charity is a Bonterra customer.
c) Other Partners include organizations such as YouTube, Patagonia, and many more!
A donation through one of these platforms may be disbursed separately from those made through your 'Fundraising Pages' (or look slightly different from your other funds).
Step 2: Confirm what payment processor was used
There are currently two ways your donations can be processed and disbursed – through the Network for Good Donor-Advised Fund (also known as 'DAF') or through Bonterra Payments (powered by Stripe).
