Understanding ACH Giving

Updated this week

Feature Overview: ACH Giving

ACH giving allows donors to make a gift directly from their U.S. bank account - right on your Network for Good donation forms. Adding a ‘Bank Account’ option gives donors another trusted way to give (alongside cards and digital wallets), and helps reduce failed payments that can happen when cards expire or get replaced.

ACH is especially helpful for:

  • recurring gifts

  • donors who prefer not to use credit cards

  • supporters making larger gifts who want a familiar bank-transfer option

Feature Availability

ACH giving is available for organizations using Bonterra Payments (powered by Stripe) to process donations.

ACH is not available for organizations using the For Good Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) disbursement experience. To offer ACH on your donation forms, you’ll need to upgrade to Bonterra Payments.

ACH Giving for Donors

When ACH is enabled, donors will see a ‘Bank Account' payment option on your donation form. Depending on the donor’s bank, they may be able to:

  • connect instantly through a secure bank-link experience, or

  • enter their bank routing and account numbers manually

ACH Giving for Organizations

ACH donations appear alongside your other gifts in Network for Good, so you can:

  • view transactions in your standard donation reporting

  • filter and export donation data as usual

  • reconcile donations without extra tools or manual work
