Overview

Performance Analytics makes it easy for you to create reports displaying the data you care most about. Create multiple reports and share with teams and individuals.

Know what reports you want to build, or are happy to explore? Go ahead and create your own reports from a blank canvas, in a few simple steps.

Not sure where to start? We’ll soon be adding some pre-built templates that you can customise. These are based on the most common reports we've seen across thousands of recruiters.

Visit the sections below for step-by-step guidance.

Creating a new report 🛠️

Follow these steps to create a report from scratch.

To perform these steps, by default, you need to have Administrator permissions on OneUp.

1. Navigate to Reports in the navigation bar at the top of OneUp and select + Create report.

2. Select who you want to report on in the drop-down of the For area.

Options include: users, teams or companies.

💡 With access to our add-on product, Performance Insights, you'll also be able to select to report on Clients, Jobs and Candidates here.

Once you make a selection, your users, team or company will appear in the table.

Apply filters on the user/team/company column, to choose specific users, teams or companies.

💡 If you're reporting on teams, select the dropdown arrow next to each team for a collapsible view of individuals, and their respective performance.

3. Next, simply add what you want to report on to your report, using the + Add column button on the right:

You can add metrics, profile fields and last activity:

  • Metrics are quantitative measurements used to assess performance, that you've set up on our platform, e.g., jobs added, interviews booked, revenue, etc. Find out more here.

  • Profile fields provide you with more contextual information around the user or team, and more ways to sort the data. e.g., start date, job title, job role.

  • Last activity allows you to report on last activity against metrics. This is the timestamp of the latest performance logged against a metric, e.g., Last CVs sent might be yesterday.

Either scroll through the categorized dropdown list, or use the search bar, to add metrics, fields, and last activity metrics to your report.

📊 With Performance Insights, you also have the ability to add CRM fields, and last activity against these.

The people, teams or companies you've selected, and the metrics and fields you wish to track will appear in the table.

By default, metric data will appear in target mode - if there is a target set against a metric, this will appear in the report, with a colour representing target attainment, according to the target boundaries set up for your business.

💡 Other view options include:

  • Show percentage target - this displays percentage performance against the target set

  • Show an expected indicator against performance on the table. Think of this as a virtual pacemaker, giving you an insight into what you or your teams need to do to hit your targets. Learn more about expected performance here.

To show these options on your report, select the customize view button on the right, and then toggle on show percentage of target and/or show expected indicator.

4. Select a time period from the date picker. We'll display last month by default.

5. Don't forget to save your report, using the Save button on the top right, and give it a useful name.

All your saved reports will appear for you to revisit, share, and manage. Find out more here.

More advanced features 🤓

Break down data by time period

When selecting a time period to report on, you can now choose to break this down further.

For example, when reporting on the last month, you might want to drill into performance by week. This is useful for checking consistency in performance over time.

To break down a time period:

  1. Configure your report to display the metric(s) you want to report on.

  2. Using the date picker, select the overall period you want to see data in.

  3. In the date picker, select an option from the Split by bar on the right.

  4. Select apply.

💡 Split by use case examples:

  • Activity for last month - grouped by week to see week-on-week performance and spot trends (e.g. are fewer CVs sent at the end of the month?)

  • Quarter on quarter revenue annual report. Grouping the years into quarters, allowing you to draw comparisons (e.g., Q2 this year vs Q2 last year)

  • Use during 1 to 1s to highlight areas where the individual is doing well and areas where improvement might be needed.

  • Individuals can use the breakdown to have a better understanding of their performance and spot trends.

Report on minimum / maximum and averages

Calculate the min, max, and average values per metric and make comparisons at-a-glance.

When selecting a metric, we'll display the total against the target by default. However, you might want to compare the total number of CVs sent to the average number of CVs sent, for example.

Steps:

1. Duplicate your chosen metric by selecting the settings icon next to the name of the metric itself, and then the copy icon.

2. For the new duplicate metric, select settings icon to edit it. In the metric value dropdown, select minimum, maximum or average, depending on what you want to compare or display.

💡 Average use case examples:

  • To analyse contract revenue split trends and allow you to work out when to focus efforts on Contract placements. To do this, select the entire company, add contract revenue booked, and change the value to monthly average. Select the timeframe that makes sense to you, e.g., this year, and then split by quarter.

  • To inform target setting. Explore when the best average weekly revenue was for a specific user or team and use this period’s supporting activities to inform target setting in order to reach revenue target.

  • Use case for individual contributors: For individual annual revenue targets, use the averages feature to look at your average monthly revenue achievement per Quarter. This will allow you to know whether you’re on track for the year, or whether you need to push to get that average up.

💡 Maximum use case examples:

  • Use the maximum feature to identify records in your company or team! E.g., record number of CVs sent in a single week by an individual, in the last quarter.

  • Go a step further and use this to inform targets and triggers

Date overrides: compare metrics against different timeframes

This allows you to quickly compare the same metric across different time periods, in the same report.

To do this, edit the metric by selecting the settings icon on the right hand-side of the metric name.

Select a timeframe from the override timeframe dropdown.

This will then display a different timeframe for that particular metric, based on what is selected in the override timeframe dropdown.

💡 Use this functionality to duplicate metrics and compare them against different time periods, to understand differences in performance. Analyse whether things are on the right trajectory over the last week, month or quarter!

Report on last activity

Last activity shows the latest activity against the chosen metrics. This is the timestamp of the latest performance logged against a metric, e.g., Last CVs sent might be yesterday.

Answer questions like:

  • When was the last 'first interview' that this specific consultant did?

  • When was the most recent 'candidate call' that these particular people did?

To report on last activity, select add column, and then add any last activity metric, e.g., last CVs sent, last 1st interviews, last candidate calls.

❗ Last activity reporting is only displayed for performance within the last 365 days.
