Call 3: Duplication & Marketing

Turn your finished class into a full schedule, get your marketing pieces, and open registration.

This is the third of your three onboarding calls. See all three in Welcome to Your Op 36 Onboarding.

On this call, you'll turn your one finished class into a full schedule and get the marketing pieces you need to fill it. By the end, every class is built and connected to its 9-hole events, and you'll know what to send, post, and print to open registration.

Bring your finished class from Call 2, plus a list of every class you want to run: level, day, time, and start date.

Duplicating Your Class

  1. Copy your program: open the Group Program section, click Build a Program in the upper right corner, select Copy Existing Program, and choose your finished program.

  2. Update the title and subtitle so they fit the new class.

  3. Check the Schedule tab: your session blocks copy across. Update the dates and times, and adjust the schedule if this class is a different level or audience.

  4. Review the marketing details: description, pricing, and images.

  5. Save the copied program before moving on, so none of your changes are lost.

  6. Connect the class to your master roster: go to the 9-Hole Event Manager tab and connect the class. A copied class doesn't join your 9-hole event series on its own.

  7. Repeat for each class, then check that your landing page shows every program under the right category.

Good to know: When you copy a class that already has a schedule, you can't edit the program start and end dates right away. Change the dates and times one session at a time in the Schedule tab instead. That way you don't have to delete the whole schedule.

  • Naming adult programs: avoid the word "beginner" for adults. A name like "Adult Ladies Program" sounds more inviting and sets your program apart from low-cost intro clinics.

  • Mixed levels in one adult class: adults, especially in ladies-only classes, can share a class across levels. Everyone does the same activity, and you give each player guidance for their own level. During testing week, check off skills for several students at once with Curriculum Testing under the More tab in the mobile app.

Marketing blueprint and videos

A step-by-step plan from our marketing team

  • Allow time to market. Three months of steady marketing is ideal for filling your classes. Give yourself at least 30 days between opening registration and your first class. A 30-day push brings in a few sign-ups, but usually means a slower start. Launches close to holidays often start small.

  • Send it more than once. People usually need about seven touches before they act. Repeat your announcement across email, your newsletter, social, and in person.

  • Hold a few orientation nights. Walk families and prospective students through the curriculum, how students track progress between classes, and how 9-hole events work. Update the slides with your dates.

  • Show off your program with the Academy Display. Show leaderboards, course records, practice points, and photos at your facility.

  • Follow up on leads. Your Community Leads page collects names, interests, and skill levels from people interested in your programs. You get an email when a new lead comes in, so you can follow up and track each one through to sign-up.

  • Set honest expectations. Golf takes practice. On average, a student needs at least 20 attempts to pass a yardage, so let students and parents know early rounds are part of the process.

Common Questions

I copied a class, but it isn't on my event series. Why?

That's expected. Open the 9-Hole Event Manager tab and connect the new class to your master roster.

How do students and parents sign up?

They find your facility in the app or on your landing page, choose a program, and register. Adults each need their own account. Juniors are added to a family account that a parent manages. [LINK: registration video]

Can I take payment outside the app?

Yes. Set the program to offline payments, then record each payment with Mark as Paid. Learn more in Understanding Enrollments & Billing.

How do members of a private club see my programs?

Include your access code when you share your landing page link. Without it, your landing page stays hidden.

What if a student moves up a level mid-session?

They stay in their class. Most classes are skill based, with two levels in each. For example, a Beginner class teaches Levels 1 and 2, so a student who passes Level 1 mid-session carries on at Level 2 in the same class. Their profile updates as they pass.

Do students have to use the app?

No, but it helps them understand how they improve and see how they're doing. What matters most is that you use it to log rounds and talk with each student about how often they practice and play.
