Follow these simple steps to ensure fans received their welcome automation email from you.
Create a Sign up Page
If you haven't already, create a generic sign-up page (or for your first campaign) using our Landing Page builder. Head to Engage, then Landing Pages. For more on Landing Page creation, see here.
Use the hidden extra page functionality to create a splash page. Fans will click through to here from their welcome email to confirm they received it/confirm their email address.
Include a simple message to say "thank you for confirming your email address, welcome to my/our community".
To grab the link for this hidden extra page, use the URL from "this link" which is written just above your hidden page button. Hidden pages are not part of Landing Page journey flows, so can be used in isolation without fans needing to login and verify their identity as they usually would.
Welcome Automation
Head to Engage, then Automated Broadcasts to set up your welcome email. This automation is set up for you on account opening - you just need to populate your email and activate it. Once activated, this email will begin sending to fans who sign up. The trigger is - welcome - which is a "catch-all" for sign-ups through any of your pages.
Your welcome email content should include messaging on what fans can expect for being part of your community.
Include a button for fans to click through to confirm their email address. This should be the splash page you created using the hidden extra page functionality on the sign up page you are using.
Once you're happy with your welcome automation, activate it just like a regular broadcast and it will be triggered each time a fan is assigned a welcome tag - make sure to tick "only send once" in the email details.
