Online Ticket Management (OTM) is an integrated capability within Edlio Pay (OSP) that adds barcode-driven ticketing and redemption tracking to school store products. It enables schools to sell digital tickets for sporting events, theater performances, dances, and merchandise pick-ups without needing external ticketing software.
How OTM Works
OTM operates directly on top of existing Edlio Pay catalog products rather than requiring a disconnected storefront:
Product Configuration: School bookkeepers or activity sponsors enable ticketing directly on standard store items via the Additional Options tab.
Digital Delivery: When a parent, student, or community member purchases a ticketed item, the system automatically emails an order receipt containing unique barcodes and redemption links.
Flexible Redemption: Attendees can present their digital ticket on a mobile device for scanning, redeem it themselves at the gate on their smartphone, or present a printed barcode receipt.
Single-Use Security: Every ticket has a unique identifier that can only be redeemed once, preventing unauthorized duplicate admissions.
Enabling Ticketed Items in the Catalog
Log in to your Edlio Pay (OSP) administrative portal.
Navigate to Product Management and select the event product you wish to configure (or click Add Product to create a new one).
Click the Additional Options tab at the top of the product editor.
Locate the Ticketed Item checkbox and check it to activate ticketing options for this product.
Configure the ticket display settings:
Show Redeem Button: When enabled, the purchaser receives an interactive button on their mobile order screen allowing gate staff or the attendee to redeem the ticket with a single tap.
Show Barcode: Displays a high-contrast linear barcode on both digital and printed receipts for rapid hardware scanning.
Click Save to apply the changes to the catalog item.
đĄ Best Practice Adoption Tip: For high-traffic football games or auditorium performances, enable both Show Barcode and Show Redeem Button. This allows gate attendants to quickly scan tickets with a USB or wireless barcode scanner while offering attendees a smooth self-serve redemption fallback if line queues get long.
Purchaser Ticket Delivery Experience
Immediately upon order completion, purchasers receive an automated order confirmation email containing their ticket access details. If an order contains multiple tickets (e.g., general admission for a family of four), the confirmation includes individual ticket tokens for each attendee.
Purchasers can access their tickets at any time by logging into their account on the school's online store and navigating to My Account > Order History.
