Creating Households: New Process to Reduce Creation of Duplicate Households

Updated over a week ago

To reduce the number of potential duplicate households created, the admin function to add a new household now includes an existing member lookup.

Step One: Identify a Household Member via UUID or First and Last Name Lookup

Use either the UUID Lookup or the First/Last Name fields on the “Add New Household” screen to find a known member within your Club or system.

  • UUID Lookup: Add the UUID of a household member and click the Lookup button once the green Valid text appears.

  • First/Last Name Lookup: Add at least the first three letters of a person’s first name AND the entire last name, and click out of the text box to start the name match lookup.

Step Two: Select an Existing Member and Household or Create a New Household

Potential household and person matches will be presented to you with redacted information. Information supplied on potential matches is limited to First/Last Name, redacted email, gender, redacted birth date, street address, and zip code.

  • Use the Green Select Person button to proceed to work with the selected member’s household.

  • Click the Save button on the Add Existing Person view (this will not create another person) to view and manage the household.

  • If the potential matching members do not result in a positive match, click the cancel button on the Person lookup results view to proceed with creating a new household.

Step Three: Identify Potential Duplicate Households by Street Address

If you are adding a new member to a household because no matches were identified, the system will conduct a final check on the first ten characters of the street address to find potential matching households.
