Setting up our iPads as Tills couldn't be more simple πŸ‘Œ Pebble manages its deployed iPads using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) system called JAMF Now. JAMF Now enables us to remotely install, manage and maintain those iPads deployed onto customer premises without the need for a field engineering team. Just as long as the iPad has a wireless connection we are good to go πŸ‘

So you have received an iPad and want to know how to get it set up. Follow the below step-by-step instructions, and if you require any further support just give us a call at 08453101788 or email us at support@mypebble.co.uk

Setting up your iPad

  1. Turn on your iPad using the Top button as displayed in the below diagram - hold down the Top Button until you see an apple logo, then release

  2. Press the Home/Touch ID Sensor to start the setting up process

  3. When prompted to do so:

    1. Set the default language to English

    2. Set the Country or Region as United Kingdon

  4. Select 'Set up Manually'

  5. Now connect the iPad to your wireless network by selecting your Network SSID from the list, and type in your Password followed by selecting 'Join'

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you are setting up your iPad using an Apple iPhone Hotspot, make sure that when connected you are not using "Low Data Mode" on the iPhone.

How to turn off low Data mode:

i: Go to Settings and tap Wi-Fi

ii: Tap the Info Button (i) next to the Wi-Fi network that you're connected to

iii: Turn off Low Data Mode

  6. The iPad will confirm that it is connected to your Wifi by displaying a blue tick to the left of the Wifi SSID name - Select 'Next'

  7. The iPad will now inform you that it is remotely managed by SF SOFTWARE LTD. Just select 'Next' at the top right

  8. At the Create a Passcode screen select 'Passcode Options'

  9. Select 'Don't Use Passcode' twice

  10. Select 'Continue'

  11. Select 'Enable Location Services'

  12. If prompted to edit the home screen, select 'Dismiss'

  13. Select the Settings icon

  14. Select 'Finish Setting Up Your iPad'

  15. Select 'Set Up Passcode'

  16. Select 'Passcode Options'

  17. Select 'Don't Use Passcode' twice

  18. Select the Home/Touch ID sensor button to return to the home page

The iPad will now remove all unnecessary Apps, and download the SumUp POS App automatically.

It is important that the iPad remains on, and charged as to enable Pebble Support to remotely configure the device and deploy security updates.
