I can no longer feel the suction

Updated over a month ago

1. Usage of the Product

Position & Bra Support

  • Verify that the pump is positioned correctly on your breast for optimal suction.

Try holding the breast pump in your hands during a session. If suction is better, consider adjusting the tightness of your bra until you find what works best for you.

  • Use a well-fitted pumping bra that securely holds the pump in place.

You can try a tighter or looser bra until you find what works best for you.

Battery

  • Check if the pump is sufficiently charged before use. The LED should light up in green. You can check the exact battery level during a session using the Perifit Pump app.

  • If you notice that you pump’s battery takes a long time to charge or that it doesn’t charge, try using a different USB charging cable and adapter.

Pumping options

  • Try adjusting the 4 pumping options using the Perifit app: intensity, program, mode, and speed.

First, verify that your desired options has not been changed. You can use the Perifit Pump app to visualize the options currently used in a session.

If you still don’t feel the suction, try out different options until you find the ones that suit you best.

2. Assembly & Parts

  • Make sure all components (connector, diaphragm, flange, bottle, and valve) are correctly assembled by following the instructions in this article.

  • Inspect all parts for wear, cracks, or damage.

The breast pump's silicone parts should be replaced regularly, depending on the frequency of use and cleaning method. Here are our recommendations:

    • Valve: 1 to 3 months

    • Diaphragm: 3 to 6 months

    • Joint: 3 to 6 months

A spare replacement valve and joint were provided to you in the accessory bag with your breast pump, but you can also order them at any time from our online store.

  • Clean and dry all parts according to the instructions before reassembly, as shown in this article.

3. Other Issues

Detect if there is an issue with the air valve of your pump: 💨

If there is an issue with the air valve, all functions of your pump would seem operational (app still connected, session ongoing, buttons working, and the pump will be responding to commands). However, the motor will not function correctly, producing only a “clic-clic” sound, without a suction noise. Here are some questions that will help you detect if this is what is happening:

  1. Can you turn your pump ON and OFF using the power button?

  2. Does the issue happen during a pumping session?

  3. When the issue happens, can you still modify the intensity using the pump buttons?

  4. Do you hear that the noise of the pump has changed? For example, only a “clic-clic” sound and no suction noise.

If you have answered yes to all the questions above, you may encounter an air valve issue on your pump.

Now that you identified the problem, what can you do at home to fix it? 🔧

We have you covered! Here is how to launch a Maintenance Program created by our experts to address this specific issue by only using your Perifit Pump app

  1. Open the app and go to Settings.

  2. Tap five times on your name at the top of the screen.

  3. The Maintenance Program will appear as an option at the bottom of the Settings page

  4. Select it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: The program runs for 1 hour to restore the pump’s factory functioning. Remove all accessories (connector, diaphragm, flange, bottle, and valve) before starting. The pump will operate at full speed and may sound louder than usual. We recommend leaving it in another room during this process.

If the issue persists, don't desperate, we are here to help 👍

If none of the above solutions work, please contact our customer support at support@perifit.co with a video of your pump in operation (filmed close enough to capture the sound) to help diagnose the problem.
