Why Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ May Show Different Values
Updated over 3 weeks ago

If you're using both the Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ devices, you may notice differences in the values they display. This can sometimes raise questions about accuracy or performance. Rest assured, these differences are normal and result from variations in how the devices are designed. Here's everything you need to know about why these values differ and how to focus on what truly matters in your pelvic floor journey.

Why the Values Differ

  1. Enhanced Sensor Technology in Perifit Care+

The Perifit Care+ features improved sensors that are more sensitive and better positioned, allowing for a more accurate assessment of your true pelvic floor contraction quality. While this may result in initially lower contraction quality scores compared to the Perifit Care, it reflects a more precise measurement of your pelvic floor strength.

  2. Differences in Force Measurements

The force values displayed by the devices can also differ due to variations in sensor design. It’s not uncommon for Perifit Care+ to display strength values that are roughly half that of Perifit Care.

💡These differences are expected and not a cause for concern. The goal is not to compare values between devices but to use one consistent device to track your progress.

How to Use This Information

  1. Stick to One Device

To accurately monitor your progress, and since the app doesn’t yet allow for probe differentiation in the Progress tab, we recommend sticking with either the Perifit Care or Perifit Care+ rather than switching between the two. This ensures consistent data and prevents confusion.

  2. Focus on Symptoms and Technique

    • The most important indicator of improvement is the reduction of pelvic floor symptoms in your daily life.

    • Improving contraction quality and technique is key. Using the Perifit Care+, you can work on refining your technique with a new baseline for strength and train in different positions, which mimics real-life scenarios, much like a physiotherapist would recommend.

  3. Track Progress Over Time

    • If you’re tracking strength, only compare values within the same device.

    • Don’t fixate on the numbers themselves; instead, focus on how your pelvic floor health is improving overall.

The improved sensitivity and positioning of the Perifit Care+ sensors provide a better representation of your pelvic floor strength. While the initial scores may feel discouraging, they serve as a realistic starting point to help you focus on improvement. Training with better technique will allow you to reduce symptoms more effectively and efficiently.

Remember, your pelvic floor journey is about progress, not perfection. Whether you're using Perifit Care or Perifit Care+, trust the process and focus on symptom relief and quality of life. We're here to support you every step of the way! 💙
