Overview
Promotions in Perkstar are designed for customer communication and event marketing. They don't affect your main loyalty logic or point accrual rules — instead, they help you inform customers about special events, campaigns, or offers.
For example, you can create a promotion to announce a "Sweet Week," invite customers to a store anniversary celebration, or notify them about a limited-time gift. During the promotion, the card design changes and customers see the promotional details directly on their loyalty card.
Important: Promotions do not change how a card works. A promotion cannot double cashback, add extra stamps, increase a discount, automate extra points, or add extra rewards. They do not affect the earning rules of the card in any way.
How to create a promotion
Step 1: Open the promotions section
Navigate to the Promotions section in your dashboard. (Cards > Promotions)
Step 2: Fill in promotion details
Enter the promotion name and description.
Select the fields that will be displayed on customer cards during the promotion.
Step 3: Set up push notifications
Configure push notifications to inform customers when the promotion starts and ends.
Step 4: Add a promotional image
Upload an image that will replace the card background during the promotion.
Note: The recommended file size is 960 × 252 pixels, PNG format only, maximum 3 MB.
You can preview how the promotion will look on a card in the adjacent tab.
Step 5: Set usage limits
Configure two optional limits for the promotion:
Limit per member – The maximum number of times a single customer can use the promotion
Max global usages – The total number of times the promotion can be used across all customers
Both fields are optional. If you leave them empty, the promotion will have no restrictions — customers can use it an unlimited number of times.
Step 6: Select card templates
Select the card templates to which the promotion will apply.
Important: Each template can only have one active promotion per period.
Set the status to Active when everything is ready.
How to redeem a promotion
Promotions can be redeemed in the customer account and through the scanner app. In the scanner, the customer's individual usage and the total remaining usage for the promotion are displayed, separated by a slash.

How to delete a promotion
Open the Promotions tab in your dashboard.
In the list of active or scheduled promotions, locate the promotion you want to remove.
Click the trash bin icon on the far right side of the row.
Confirm the action.
The promotion will be permanently deleted and will no longer be available to customers.
FAQs
Do promotions affect my loyalty card's earning rules?
No. Promotions are purely for communication and visibility. They cannot double cashback, add extra stamps, increase discounts, automate extra points, or modify any card mechanics.
Can I run multiple promotions on the same card template?
Not at the same time. Each card template can only have one active promotion per period.
What happens if I don't set usage limits?
The promotion will have no restrictions. Customers can use it an unlimited number of times until the promotion ends or is deleted.
Will customers see the promotion on their card?
Yes. During an active promotion, the card design changes — the promotional image replaces the card background and promotional details are visible directly on the loyalty card.
