If your WhatsApp template was rejected, there can be several causes. Below are the most common issues along with their corresponding error messages:

1. Issues with Your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) → "WABA Issue"

If your WABA is inactive or restricted, your templates may not be approved. Possible reasons include:

  • WABA was disabled – by Facebook or the WABA owner.

  • WABA violates WhatsApp guidelines – even if there are no current restrictions, this could lead to rejection.

  • WABA was restricted due to guideline violations – with or without a specific reason given.

  • WABA was removed by a partner or updated – possible changes in business operations.

  • WABA phone number was updated or its quality rating changed.

2. Issues with the Template Itself → "Template Issue"

WhatsApp can reject or deactivate a template for several reasons:

  • Template is planned for deactivation – WhatsApp has marked it for removal.

  • Template was paused – possibly due to technical issues.

  • Template is pending deletion – sometimes without a detailed reason.

  • Template category was updated – requiring a new review process.

  • Template quality rating was downgraded – this can lead to verification failure.

3. Payment Issues → "Payment Issue"

If there are billing problems (e.g., a failed payment), your template may not be processed or could be rejected.

4. Messaging Limit Issues → "Messaging Limit"

WhatsApp enforces limits on the number of messages you can send. If you exceed these limits, your template may not be approved or used. Possible scenarios include:

  • Messaging limit reached (Increase denied) – you cannot send more messages.

  • Messaging limit reached (Not enough activity on WABA) – your account needs more activity to qualify for an increase.

  • Messaging limit reached (Additional information required) – WhatsApp needs more details before increasing your limit.

Understanding these error messages will help you identify why a template was rejected and take steps to resolve the issue. If you need assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team. 🚀
