How to set up a cookie banner for an AI funnel?

Learn how to manage cookie consent on your AI funnel: add the services you use, fill in the information about your legal entity, and stay GDPR-compliant.

TL;DR

  • The cookie banner lets your funnel visitors accept or reject the cookies used on your funnel, or choose individual categories before anything is stored on their device.

  • You can manage the cookie notice banner for your AI funnel in the Editor under Funnel Settings > Privacy and cookie settings: add services, fill in the information about your legal entity, and link your imprint page and privacy policy.

  • Active Perspective integrations like Meta or HubSpot, as well as embedded media like a YouTube video, are detected and added to the banner automatically.

ℹ️ Important: The cookie banner in the format that is described in this article is only available for AI funnels. If you use a regular funnel (not an AI funnel), use this guide to set up a cookie banner.

How do I set up a cookie banner for my AI funnel?

  1. Open your AI funnel in the editor.

  2. Go to Funnel Settings and then navigate to Privacy & Cookies.

  3. Here you have two options: you can turn the cookie banner off or enable and customize it. Once you enable the cookie banner for your AI funnel, you can customize by following the steps below.

  4. If you use any third-party services and connect them via a direct integration in Perspective, they will be added as a service to the cookie banner automatically. Information about embedded external media will also be added to the cookie banner automatically.

If you're using other third-party services with cookies, you should add them as a service in the cookie banner settings manually.

To do that, click Add service in the Cookie banner content section. Fill in the information about the service and click Add service.

You can always go back to edit or remove a cookie banner service that you added.

  5. In the Legal entity section of the cookie banner, fill in the information about your legal entity (like company name and address, and links to the privacy policy and imprint). This information will be visible on the cookie banner.

  6. Publish your funnel to set the updated cookie banner live.

How does the cookie banner look for my funnel visitors on AI funnels?

When someone opens your published AI funnel, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page, where visitors can set up their cookie preferences.

There are three options they can select from:

  1. Accept all cookies - stores every cookie category, including the optional ones.

  2. Reject all - declines every category of cookies.

  3. More options - opens a detailed view where visitors can see what each category stores and switch individual categories on or off.

💡 Note: Necessary cookies are always required and can't be switched off individually. Only if a funnel visitor selects the option Reject all, will they be declined along with every other cookie category.

Your funnel visitors can reopen the cookie banner on the AI funnel and adjust their cookie preference at any time by clicking the small shield icon in the bottom-left corner of the funnel.

FAQ

Can I turn the cookie banner off?

Yes, you can turn the cookie banner off completely under Funnel Settings > Privacy & Cookies. We recommend keeping it active if your funnel reaches visitors in the EU.

Do I need to add my Perspective integrations as services in the cookie banner for AI funnels?

No, your active integrations and apps like Meta or HubSpot are added to the banner automatically. You only add services manually for third-party scripts that aren't Perspective integrations.

Why isn't my legal entity information showing in the cookie banner?

Your legal entity details are not pre-filled. The banner only shows them after you enter your name, address, and links in the Legal Entity section of the cookie banner settings (only available for AI funnels) and publish the funnel.

How can funnel visitors change their cookie choice later?

Funnel visitors can reopen the cookie banner anytime by clicking the small shield icon in the bottom-left corner of the funnel and adjusting their choice.
