With custom linking, you decide how visitors move through your funnel — automatically, via button click, or based on specific answers.
You can define rules and conditions that determine when a visitor should be redirected to a certain page — immediately after a response or later in the funnel.
This creates an experience that feels dynamic, interactive, and personal for every visitor. The result: higher-quality leads, better conversions, and every prospect following the path that fits them best.
How to use custom linking in your funnels
Custom linking lets you build flexible, logical, and highly personalized funnels. You set the rules that define who sees which page, and when.
Here’s how to put custom linking to work:
Automatically filter out unqualified leads or applicants → improve your lead quality
Redirect visitors to external sites like social media or dedicated landing pages
Display personalized result pages based on quiz answers
Adjust your messaging based on a visitor’s choices or location to make them feel understood and valued
Create dynamic funnel flows that feel tailored to each user: through clear rules, you guide visitors to different pages or paths based on their inputs
Common use cases for agencies
Common use cases for agencies
Complex lead qualification
Combine multiple answers to automatically segment leads.
Example: Only if Question 1 = Business Owner, Question 3 = Budget over $5,000, and Question 4 = Decision-Maker, the visitor is redirected to the “Qualified Lead” page. All others go to a “Follow-up” or “Not Yet Qualified” page.
Multi-step logic throughout the funnel
You can apply conditions not only immediately but also across several steps in the funnel.
Example: If Question 1 = Real Estate Industry and Question 4 = Interested in a Consultation, redirect to a “Book a Call” page at the end of the funnel. Otherwise, send them to a “Learn More” page.
Personalized results and offers
Use location or industry info to tailor your content dynamically.
Example: A visitor from Austin who selects “I’m a Coach” will see a different result page or CTA than someone from New York who selects “I’m a Financial Advisor.”
Automatic routing to the right CRM or booking flow
Set up routing rules to send qualified leads directly to different CRM workflows or booking links — for example, different Calendly or HubSpot flows depending on lead status.
This mix of simple and advanced rules makes Advanced Linking a true game changer for agencies. It allows you to build scalable, intelligent funnels tailored precisely to your clients’ needs — without any technical complexity.
What types of linking are available?
Depending on your plan and use case, you have several options available:
1. Standard Linking (available in all plans)
When you click a button or an answer option inside your funnel, you’ll see a “Linking” section in the sidebar (top field).
Here, you can define what happens when a visitor clicks.
Options for Standard Linking:
Next Page: Sends the visitor to the next funnel page.
External URL: Link to an external website or another Perspective funnel.
Good to know 💡
When linking to an external site, the page opens in the same browser tab by default.
You can also link individual words or sentences within text blocks — just highlight the text, click the small link icon, and add your URL.
2. Advanced Linking (available from the Business/Grow Plan)
Advanced Linking lets you set up complex rules and conditions that determine which page a visitor should see next.
ℹ️ Advanced Linking is available starting from the Business (Legacy) / Grow Plan. It can also be added through the Personalization Block Suite.
If Advanced Linking isn’t activated in your account, you can still use the Standard Linking options (e.g., next page or external URL).
How it works:
In the Funnel Editor, click the button or answer option you want to link.
In the sidebar, open the “Linking” section and click the top field.
Enable Advanced Logic.
Click “Add rule.”
Add your rules and conditions, for example:
If Answer = “CEO” → go to page “CEO Result”
If Answer = “Management” → go to page “Management Result”
If no condition matches → go to page “General Result”
You can:
Combine multiple conditions within one rule using AND or OR (click “+ Add condition” inside a rule)
Example:
You want leads with a high budget to be sent straight to your sales call booking page — but only if they also selected “Decision-Maker” earlier in the funnel.
→ Go to the question where your visitor paths should start to split
→ Create one rule with two conditions:If Budget = over $5,000
AND Position = Decision-Maker
→ Redirect to the page “Sales Call Booking.”
Duplicate, delete, or move rules using the three-dot menu in the top right corner of each rule
Prioritize rules: Rules are processed from top to bottom — the first true condition will be applied. By reordering your rules, you control which condition takes priority — giving you full control over how each visitor moves through your funnel.
Pro tip 💡
Keep your funnel structure clean and simple.
Advanced Linking is powerful, but too many nested rules can get hard to manage. Start with a few clear paths and expand as you learn what works best for your audience.
