Crop Plans And Activities

A crop plan is the season program for one paddock. Its activities can cover spraying, seeding, spreading, harvest and other work. Each activity can hold timing, products, rates, units, water rate, nozzle, droplet size, application details, equipment and notes. Operator, weather and actual-use information can be added when the work is completed.

Use Crop Plan Studio to create, change, copy, apply or clear plans for one or more paddocks. Use Map → paddock → Plan to view or check one paddock, record completion, review completed history, or edit one activity when you specifically want Phase to offer its matching copies.

Step 1 — Open Crop Plan Studio from desktop Plan, or mobile More → Planning & Imports → Crop Plan Studio. Select the paddock on the Studio map.

Step 2 — Confirm the season. Activities are saved against the selected paddock and season.

Step 3 — Select Add Activity and choose the activity type.

Step 4 — Enter a recognisable name and the planned date or date window.

Step 5 — Add the products. For each line, check the product, rate and unit. For a spray, also check the water rate, nozzle, droplet size and application details where relevant.

Step 6 — Add notes or equipment needed to make the job clear to the person carrying it out.

Step 7 — Save, review the staged preview and apply the change. Then read the activity card once more. Check that 500 mL/ha has not been entered as 500 L/ha, and that the activity is on the intended season.

If a product is missing, add it from the product picker where available or create it in Inventory. Linking the planned line to the correct inventory product improves demand, costing, labels, SDS access and Reconcile matching.

For a quick one-paddock alternative, use Map → paddock → Plan → Add Activity. Use the paddock sheet mainly when you are viewing or checking that paddock, recording completion, or deliberately using the matching-activities prompt after an edit.

Step 1 — Open the activity and select Edit.

Step 2 — Change the date, product, rate, unit, water rate, application detail, equipment or notes.

Step 3 — Save the activity. Your edit is saved on the paddock you opened.

Step 4 — If other open activities matched before the edit, Phase opens Apply edits to matching activities?. Matching paddocks are pre-selected.

Step 5 — Untick any paddock that is an exception. If product or equipment lines changed, decide whether to leave Copy product and equipment changes selected.

Step 6 — Select Apply to … fields to update the remaining selected paddocks, or Not now to keep the change only on the first paddock.

Phase matches the original job using activity type, activity name, water rate, and its product, adjuvant and conditioner lines with their rates and units. Only Active or Planned activities in the selected season are offered. Completed work is not changed.

The match is taken before your edit. For example, if eight paddocks have the same fungicide activity at 0.4 L/ha and you change one to 0.5 L/ha, Phase can still identify the other seven original 0.4 L/ha copies and offer them for update.

Dates are not part of the matching signature. This means copies with different planned dates can be offered together. Untick any paddock that should keep its current timing before applying a timing change.

Check whether the other activity is in the same selected season and is still Active or Planned. Phase will not offer completed activities.

The original copies also need the same activity type, normalised name, water rate, and product/adjuvant/conditioner setup with the same rates and units. A different product, rate, unit or water rate makes it a different job for matching purposes.

If no prompt appears, the edit has still been saved on the paddock you opened. Use Crop Plan Studio to select the intended paddocks and make a controlled group edit if needed.

Yes — you can complete matching activities across paddocks together. Complete one checked activity and Phase automatically suggests the same planned job on other paddocks. Review the selected matches, then confirm them together.

Step 1 — Open the completed job from Map → paddock → Plan and choose the completion action.

Step 2 — Review the date, operator, products, actual rates or quantities, weather and whether stock should be deducted. Do not confirm planned quantities as actual use without checking them.

Step 3 — Save that activity as complete. Phase records the reviewed values for that paddock.

Step 4 — If the same open job exists on other paddocks in the selected season, Phase can open Mark same job on other fields?. Matching paddocks start selected; untick any field that was not completed or used different actual quantities.

Step 5 — If the completed source job has product lines that the matching plans do not, review whether to add those extra product lines. Then choose Mark … other fields done.

Phase calculates totals for each selected paddock from that paddock's area. The completion date, operator, weather and inventory-deduction choice follow the reviewed completion. Use this matching-job completion flow for the same work across paddocks. Review each group of different jobs separately.

Completed passes are locked in Crop Plan Studio. Edit completion details and history from the paddock sheet.

For machine-completed John Deere work, use Inventory → Reconcile.

For a spray activity, enter the nozzle name—for example, `TeeJet AIXR 11003`—and choose its ISO size alongside water rate and droplet size. ISO sizes use the familiar colour code: 01 orange, 015 green, 02 yellow, 025 lilac, 03 blue, 04 red, 05 brown, 06 grey and 08 white. The coloured size chip appears on the activity and completed spray record.

Phase remembers nozzles previously used on the farm and offers them as suggestions, so there is no separate nozzle list to maintain. Earlier free-text names such as `AIXR 11002` can be recognised as size 02 and shown with the matching colour.

The same suggestions are available in Crop Plan Studio, a paddock's Plan tab and John Deere Reconcile. Completing a planned spray carries its nozzle into the completed record. In Reconcile, a reviewed Deere value or manual override takes priority over the planned value; use reset when the plan value is the correct one.

If a planned spray contains 2,4-D and its droplet size is missing or finer than Very coarse, Phase shows a label warning. The warning can use the linked product's active ingredients as well as its name.

This is a reminder, not a blocker or a certification. Check the current product label, permits, conditions and adviser guidance before spraying; the product label remains authoritative.

Use Add equipment or Machines on the activity to choose from Jobs & Maintenance → Machines. If an older plan line contains only a typed equipment name, Phase offers the matching machine or lets you add that asset to the fleet instead of creating a duplicate.

Each machine can remember its running cost per hectare and diesel use in litres per hectare. The next plan activity using that machine can pre-fill those values, and sprays can suggest machines normally used for spraying on that farm. Review the machine, cost, fuel and units every time; a value entered on the activity takes priority over the remembered value.

Open the Recommendations tile on Overview to see the recommendations that are waiting, who sent them and the paddocks they cover. The expanded view has Inbox, In plan and Done tabs. Open an ignored or rejected recommendation and choose Restore when it needs another decision.

Select + or New recommendation, then choose Voice or Write. Voice records a spoken recommendation, matches the paddocks and products it heard, and opens the composer already filled in. Write opens the paddock picker and composer directly. The voice choice appears only for members who can record Notes. Nothing is saved until you review the composer.

The composer keeps the type, title, date, paddocks and products together. Under Products heard, check chips such as In your shed, Product Library, Check match or No match. Use Use … to accept a close match or Find product to search. Review every product, rate, unit, water rate and paddock before saving.

A recommendation for several paddocks is one recommendation and one combined PDF when sent. Approving, ignoring or deleting it acts on the whole recommendation, while adding it to the plan creates the required activity on each paddock.

On Map → paddock → Plan, a recommendation not yet added to the plan appears at its due date with an amber Not in your plan yet state. Use Approve where required, then Add to plan; View and Ignore remain available as secondary actions. Once added, the activity carries the Reco marker and is not shown twice.

Yes — Phase has a chemical tank-mix tool: Fill Assist. Open Map → paddock → Plan → activity → Fill Assist to work out tank loads and product quantities for that activity. Check the products, rates, water rate and tank size. Fill Assist calculates quantities; it does not record the job as completed or certify chemical compatibility.

For spray or application records, try to keep the activity name, product list, water rate, operator and timing clear. Cleaner planned activities make inventory demand, reports, recommendations and Reconcile easier to trust.

If a product is missing from the picker, add or match it in Inventory so labels, SDS links, price and stock can connect properly.
