How to Respond to an Event for Family Members

Respond to an event on behalf of every linked family member in one sheet, and understand how payment is grouped or triggered independently depending on the event's fee timing.

If you have family members linked to your account, whether several or just one child, responding works a little differently: you'll see a family picker before you get to the response options.

  1. Tap Respond, from either the event's card or its detail screen.

  2. A family member picker appears above the response buttons, showing yourself and every linked family member associated with this event.

  3. Select a family member, choose their response, and the sheet stays open.

  4. Repeat for each family member in turn.

  5. Once everyone has responded, the sheet closes, or a combined payment screen opens if the fee timing calls for it.

Note: The picker only shows family members who are actually in an invited group for that event. If your child isn't in one of the groups, they won't appear in the picker for this particular event.

No fee

Everyone's response is saved instantly as you go. No payment screen at any point.

Pay when responding

Once every family member has responded, anyone marked Going or Available is grouped into one combined payment checkout, showing the fee per person and the total due. You pay once for the whole group. Maybe and Not going responses are never charged.

Important: Dismissing the combined payment screen sets every Going family member to Overdue immediately, with zero grace period. If one family member's card is declined, only that person goes to Overdue, everyone else is processed normally.

Pay on selection or pay after attending

No payment screen appears after responding, regardless of what anyone picked. Each family member's payment is triggered independently later: for pay on selection, only if the admin selects that specific person; for pay after attending, only if the admin marks that specific person as attended. One family member being selected or attended never affects another's charge.

FAQ

Can I respond for some family members now and finish the rest later?

Yes, if you dismiss the sheet partway through, whatever you've already submitted is saved. You can reopen the sheet later to finish responding for the rest.

Does this work the same with just one linked child as with several?

Yes, a single linked child is functionally the same flow, just with 2 people in the picker instead of 3 or more.
