Unlike resetting a forgotten password, changing your password from Settings requires you to confirm your current one first.
From Settings, tap Change Password.
Enter your Current Password.
Enter your New Password. A live checklist confirms each requirement: minimum 8 characters, an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character (like #, !, $, %, or *).
Re-enter it in Confirm New Password. A "Passwords Match" indicator appears once both fields are identical.
Tap Update Password once it activates.
PLAI verifies your current password, then sends a 4-digit code to your registered email. Enter it on the Verify Identity screen.
Once verified, you're returned to Settings with a success toast: "Your password has been updated."
Important: Your new password can't be the same as your current one. If your current password is entered incorrectly, you'll see: "Current password is incorrect," and your New Password and Confirm fields are cleared for security, you'll need to re-enter everything.
If you navigate back before completing the OTP step, all fields are cleared and no change is made.
FAQ
Why do I need to verify with a code if I already know my current password?
The OTP step adds an extra layer of confirmation before a security-sensitive change like this goes through.
What if my session expires partway through?
You'll be redirected to log in again with a message that your session expired, and the password change won't be applied.
Does changing my password log me out of other devices?
This depends on PLAI's session policy at the time, but changing your password is a good moment to check your other active sessions if that matters to you.
