As your club's structure changes, you can drag Groups and Sections into a new order, or move a Group between Sections, without deleting and recreating anything.
Go to the Groups screen and tap Manage.
Long press the drag handle (≡) on the Group or Section row you want to move. The row lifts and gets a yellow highlight border to show it's active.
Drag it to its new position:
Drop it inside an expanded Section to nest it there.
Drop it between Sections at the top level to make it standalone.
Repeat for anything else you want to move.
Tap Save to commit every change at once, or Cancel to discard all of it and revert the list to how it looked before you started.
Note: Dragging a Section moves the entire Section, including every Group nested inside it, as one unit. It doesn't change which Groups belong to that Section.
What you can't do
A Section can't be dropped inside another Section. PLAI shows: "A section can not be dropped in another section."
A Group can't be dropped inside another Group. PLAI shows: "A group can not be dropped in another group."
The All Members Group is pinned at the top and has no drag handle.
None of your changes are saved until you tap Save, so it's safe to experiment and use Cancel if you change your mind.
FAQ
Do I need to expand a Section before dragging a Group into it?
Yes, the Section needs to be expanded so its drop zone is visible.
What if I drop a Group back where it started?
Nothing changes. PLAI only sends an update if the structure has actually changed.
What if a Group I moved gets deleted by someone else before I tap Save?
You'll see: "One or more groups are no longer available. Please review the list before saving." The list refreshes with the current server state.
