If you already have a PLAI account, accepting a guardian invitation happens through an in-app banner rather than the sign-up flow.
Open the invitation email and tap Accept Invite. This deep-links straight into the PLAI app.
If you're not currently logged in, you'll be prompted to log in first, then routed to the right screen automatically.
On your home screen, you'll see a green Guardian Invite banner naming the inviting guardian and the child, for example "[Inviting Guardian] has invited you to help manage [Child]." Tap Review Invite.
On the Review Guardian Invite screen, check the child's details, then tap Accept & Continue.
The child appears in your Family Tree immediately.
The inviting guardian gets a notification confirming you've accepted.
Important: The invitation expires 72 hours after it's sent. If it expires before you respond, the banner disappears on its own, and you'll need to ask for a new invitation.
If you'd rather not co-manage the child, tap Decline Invitation on the banner. You'll see a confirmation naming the inviting guardian before the decline goes through, and they'll be notified either way.

What if I tap Accept Invite in the email but I'm logged into the wrong PLAI account?
PLAI checks the invitation against your logged-in email. If they don't match, you'll see a message explaining the invitation was sent to a different account, and you'll need to log in with the correct one.
What if I ignore the invitation entirely?
After 72 hours it simply expires. The inviting guardian is notified that it expired without a response.
Can I still see the invite if I tap the email link and the in-app banner separately?
Yes, both lead to the same Review Guardian Invite screen. Only one acceptance actually goes through either way, so there's no risk of duplicating anything by using both.
What if PLAI detects I already have a matching child profile?
