Adding Modifiers to Platter

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview

This article explains how to create modifiers in Platter, add multiple options (like spice levels), and assign them to specific categories or items so they appear on the POS during ordering.

Prerequisites

  • Manager or Admin access

  • Credential of Platter Back Office

Steps

  1. Log in to the Platter Back Office.

  2. Navigate to Cuisine Hub.

  3. Go to Cuisine Hub > Modifiers.

  4. Click the button to add a Modifier.

  5. Enter the Modifier Name (e.g., Spice Level, Add-ons, Allergies).

  6. Add the Modifier Options (e.g., Less Spicy, Medium Spicy, Extra Spicy).

    • Use the Add Option button to create multiple choices.

  7. Assign the modifier to specific Categories and/or specific Items as needed.

  8. Configure the modifier settings:

    • Mandatory Modifier: The user must select at least one option.

    • Multi-Select Values: Allows selecting more than one option.

    • Global Modifier: Applies to all categories and all items.

    • Visible: Controls whether the modifier appears on the POS system.

    • Click Submit to save the modifier.

  9. The modifier will now appear in the Back Office for further editing or deleting.

Assigning Modifiers from the Items Section

  1. Navigate to Cuisine Hub > Items.

  2. Click Edit on the item where you want to add modifiers.

  3. Scroll to the Modifiers submenu.

  4. You will see all modifiers created by the admin; select the ones you want to assign.

  5. Click Submit.

  6. The selected modifiers will now appear for that item on the POS system.

Troubleshooting

  • If modifiers do not appear on the POS:

    • Check if the modifier is Visible.

    • Confirm the modifier is assigned to the correct item or category.

    • Make sure the POS is connected to the internet so the sync can complete.

  • If mandatory options are not functioning:

    • Recheck the Mandatory Modifier setting.

  • If modifier options are missing

    • Edit the modifier and confirm all options were saved correctly.

  • If you are seeing the modifier on ALL items, not just selected ones:

    • Check the Global Modifier setting - uncheck it if you do not want it applied to every item
