Editing orders

Updated this week

Overview

Once a product is added to an order in Platter POS, it becomes an order item. Users can modify order items in several ways, including adjusting quantity, changing price, applying modifiers, adding discounts, or removing the item entirely.

These actions help ensure accurate order handling and allow staff to correct mistakes or customize items for guests.

Some editing actions may require manager permissions depending on your restaurant’s role configuration.

Prerequisites

Before editing an order, ensure:

  • The user has permission to modify items (Edit Item, Delete Item, Discounts, Change Price, etc.).

  • Modifiers, discount products, and tax settings have been configured in the Dashboard.

  • The user understands which changes require elevated permissions.
