What is Poppins Protection?

🫶 At Poppins, we’ve got your back! We know accidents happen, which is why you’re covered up to €5,000 for accidental damage or theft during your rental period. Rent with confidence, knowing we’re here to help if something unexpected happens.

Conditions

✅ What’s included:

  • Accidental damage to the rented item, during the rental period

  • Theft of the rented item (with a police report)

  • Repair costs for the rented item

  • Replacement costs if repair of the rented item isn’t possible

💡 Important: You must use the item responsibly. If negligence is involved, you may be held liable for damages.

❌ What's not included?

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Existing damage

  • Cosmetic damage not affecting functionality

  • Cleaning costs

  • Intentional damage

  • Lost rental income

  • Damage outside the rental period

  • Non-consumer products, food and consumables, drones, motorised vehicles that require a license plate, real estate, weapons, illegal items.

  • Damage to third parties, to the Borrower, to the Lender, or to other items, goods, locals / Damage created by the borrowed or rented item

What Should I Do If an Item Gets Damaged or Stolen?

If an accident happens:

As a borrower

  1. Contact the provider immediately and let them know what happened.

  2. The provider will then submit a claim & Poppins will get in touch with you.

  3. If you have personal insurance, you’ll need to claim through your insurance provider first. Only if your claim is denied, Poppins’ Protection can step in (!) you’ll need to provide written proof of denial from your insurer.

4. We review the claim and, if eligible, cover the repair or replacement costs.


As a provider

  1. As soon as you are aware of damage or theft, submit a claim to Poppins. (max 48h after the end of the rental period)

  2. Provide clear details and photos (if applicable) to help speed up the process.

  3. We review the claim and, if eligible, cover the repair or replacement costs.
