When am I personally liable as a borrower?

Updated over a week ago

Poppins Protection covers honest accidents — but not careless or dishonest behaviour.

You may be held personally liable if you:

  • Deliberately damage or misuse an item.

  • Lose a rented item

  • Ignore care instructions or act negligently.

  • Fail to return an item.

  • Submit false or misleading information in a claim.

  • Act in bad faith or try to misuse the system.

In these cases, Poppins can:

  • Hold you responsible for repair or replacement costs.

  • Deduct the amount from your payment method or future payouts.

  • Take legal action if necessary.

💡 Tip: Always use the item as agreed, follow instructions from the provider, and take a picture of the item before and after the share — that’s how you stay fully covered and trusted within the community.
