Overview
The CCQ module in ProgressionLIVE allows you to automatically manage breaks, lunch periods, and work profiles according to the rules of the Commission de la construction du Québec. This add-on module is linked to the Timesheet module and requires it to be activated first.
Note: If you do not have the Timesheet module, contact us to have it activated.
Activating the CCQ module
The CCQ module can be activated free of charge upon request. Simply contact us and our team will take care of it promptly.
Once activated, you will have access to:
Break and lunch management (web and mobile)
Work profile configuration and use
The CCQ timesheet report
A comparative view between actual durations and calculated CCQ times
Configuring profiles
Access
Go to Management > Profiles to create or edit CCQ profiles.
What is a profile?
A profile groups several attributes that automate the rules applied to timesheets, such as:
Trade type
Sector of activity
Skill level
You can create as many profiles as needed based on your organization's requirements. An employee can have one or more profiles assigned to them.
Note that the (CCQ Code) field corresponds to the number associated with the trade according to the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ). This code allows the payroll system to automatically identify the applicable hourly rate for that trade, based on the employer.
Default profile
To assign a default profile to an employee:
Go to Management > Human Resources > Timesheet tab.
Select the default profile.
This profile will be automatically applied to every new time entry created by that employee.
Tip: The employee can change the profile for a specific entry if needed.
Example: An employee who works 80% of the time as a Plumber – Apprentice 3 – Commercial can have this as their default profile, but change it to Residential depending on the task.
Break value per profile
In the Day Break tab of a profile, you can define a specific break duration.
Example: Profile X has a 30-minute break, while the default configuration is 15 minutes. This allows breaks to be adapted to different types of employees or job sites.
Managing default break and lunch values
Where to configure default values
Default values can be configured at two levels:
1. General account configuration (global values)
Accessible by an administrator under Configuration > CCQ. These values apply to all employees unless a specific profile is defined.
For each break, you can set:
Scheduled time
Expected duration (in minutes)
2. Per work profile (specific values)
In a profile record, under the Day Break tab, you can override the global values for specific groups of employees.
Example: A profile can have a 45-minute lunch instead of 30 minutes.
How these values are used
These settings are used to:
Automatically calculate time adjustments (additions or deductions) based on whether breaks were taken.
Pre-fill times and durations in the user interface.
Best practices
✅ Define a configuration that complies with CCQ rules to avoid manual adjustments.
✅ Use profiles to manage exceptions or specific job sites.
✅ Make sure default times and durations are logical (e.g., no AM break scheduled at noon).
Viewing timesheets
On the web
Break and lunch management options appear directly in the timesheet and in time entries.
On mobile
Features are available in the iOS and Android time clock.
Viewing Actual vs. CCQ durations
A new column is available in the timesheet. It displays a comparison between the actual recorded time and the CCQ-adjusted time, taking into account additions or deductions related to breaks.
CCQ report
Overview
The CCQ report allows you to analyze accumulated hours, including break-related adjustments.
For each day, you can view:
Whether breaks were taken or not
Payable time per day
Weekly summary of payable time
Summary by trade
An option allows displaying a time summary by trade, making it easier for payroll managers. This summary shows, for each employee, the total time per work profile for the week.
