How do I log a pledge from a phone call?

Learn how to log a pledge from a phone call in Raise More and document donor interactions for future reference

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Pledges play a key role in fundraising by giving organizations a clearer picture of expected contributions, which helps with planning and goal tracking. They represent a donor’s intent to give and often reflect their ongoing support for the campaign. Even if the funds haven’t been received yet, knowing what’s been promised allows teams to forecast revenue and allocate resources more effectively.

Logging pledges accurately is just as important as receiving them. Without proper records, it becomes difficult to follow up with donors, measure progress, or report on fundraising goals. Keeping pledge information organized ensures that no commitments fall through the cracks and that every donor interaction is documented for future reference and relationship building.

How to log Pledges?

Raise More allows you to log pledges during calling sessions as well as after calls in interaction records. In the left pane, Click Dialer -> Past Session Summaries -> List name (last column) -> contact’s first or last name. You can also log a pledge later on for any contact using the same procedure. Simply input the pledge information in a contact profile as illustrated below:

Click the desired contact (first or last name) after clicking a list

  • Enter a pledge amount

  • Choose between pledge type between “Hard” and “Soft” pledge using the toggle button

  • Click Due and select the date on which the donor has committed to donate

  • Click the blue Save interaction button

The logged pledge will become visible in the interaction history as well as the dedicated Pledges section

How to update or edit a Pledge?

A donor might have pledged a certain amount, but later changed his/her mind and committed to a different amount or date. You can easily update a pledge after logging it in the system. One way of doing it is by clicking Pledges in the left pane, filtering the pledge (refer to How do I filter and manage Pledges?) and then the three-dot button under Edit (last column). Enter the updated pledge amount/due date and click the blue Update Interaction button.

You can also do the same by clicking a contact in Dialer -> Past Session Summaries -> List Name (last column) -> click contact first or last name. This will take you to Interaction History where in addition to other information you’ll also find pledges. Click the three-dot menu button then Edit to update a pledge. The same process also applies if you click any contact in the Contacts section and update pledge information in the interaction history.

How to delete a Pledge?

If a pledge was recorded in error or is no longer relevant, it can be removed from the system. Deleting a pledge helps keep records accurate and ensures that reports reflect only valid commitments. This is especially useful for avoiding confusion when managing large volumes of donor activity.

Raise More makes it simple and straightforward to remove a pledge, allowing users to maintain clean and accurate records with minimal effort. The procedure to delete a pledge is the same as editing a pledge as discussed above except you have to click Delete instead of clicking Edit.

Raise More makes the process of logging pledges from phone calls straightforward by providing a simple interface that lets users quickly record pledge details during or after a call. This helps ensure that no commitment is missed and that follow-ups can be done in a timely and accurate way.
