When you are done making calls, you leave the calling session. Leaving disconnects you and takes you back to the main Dialer page. If other people are in the same session, they stay connected after you leave.
What leaving does
Leaving disconnects you only. It does not shut the session down for everyone else. The Leave button's tooltip says this directly: "Leave the call session. If there are other users, they will stay connected."
If you are still on a call when you leave, you are disconnected from that call too. Hanging up first is cleaner, but not required.
Step 1: Hang up if you are still on a call
If you are connected to a donor on an outbound call, end that call first.
Find the hang-up button in the call bar at the top of the donor's profile. It is the red button with a phone handset icon turned down.
Click it to end the call.
If you are not on a call, skip this step.
Step 2: Leave the calling session
Look at the dialer control bar.
Click the Leave button. It is the button with the log-out arrow icon, and it turns red when you hover over it. Hovering shows the tooltip "Leave the call session. If there are other users, they will stay connected."
A confirmation appears that reads: "WAIT: Are you sure you want to leave this call session? You will be disconnected!"
Click OK to confirm.
After you confirm, you are disconnected and sent back to the Dialer page.
How your connection drops, based on how you joined
Leaving handles the disconnect automatically for the way you joined:
If you joined with "Join via browser," your browser audio connection is dropped.
If you joined by phone (you dialed in, or used "Call me"), you are dropped from the phone conference.
If you joined with "Join without audio," there is no live call to drop, so you are simply removed from the session.
You do not choose between these. Clicking Leave and confirming does the right one for you.
Does the session get deleted?
No. Leaving does not delete the session or the list. Your place in the list is saved, so the session can be picked back up later. There is no separate button that ends the session for everyone.
To come back to it:
Go to the Dialer page.
Under "Join an active calling session," find the session and join it again.
You rejoin at the same place in the list, and any calls and notes you already logged stay attached to the donors.
Leaving when other people are in the session
If you are calling alongside other people in the same session, leaving removes only you. Everyone else stays connected and can keep going. The session keeps running for them until they leave too.
