Bulk Template Permissioning

A template is only available to an agency, provider, product or publication once it has been "permissioned" to it. Bulk Template Permissioning lets you do this for many templates and many entities in fewer steps.

What is template permissioning?

A template is only available to an agency, provider, product or publication once it has been "permissioned" to it. Bulk Template Permissioning lets you do this for many templates and many entities in fewer steps.

Where you'll use this

  • Template Manager → Templates — select one or more templates and assign or copy permissions.

The tools module

On the Templates page in Template Manager you'll see a tools bar with:

  • A List / Grid view toggle

  • Select Mode which allows the user to select multiple templates

  • Select All / Deselect All

  • Assign Bulk Permissions (enabled once one or more templates of the same brand are selected)

  • Archive / Unarchive

  • Approve for Production / Unapprove for Production

You must select a brand in the filters before the Bulk Permissions button become available.

Assigning permissions to one or more templates

  1. Go to Template Manager → Templates.

  2. Filter by Brand (required before you can multi-select and click Assign Bulk Permissions).

  3. Select one or more templates:

    • Grid view: click a template tile to tick it.

    • List view: use the tick control on the left of each row.

  4. Click Assign Bulk Permissions in the tools module.

  5. In the Assign Permissions side modal, choose Assign Manually.

  6. Step through the permissioning workflow (Services → Products → Providers → Agencies, etc.) as normal.

  7. Confirm. If you selected multiple templates the system may take a few seconds to apply these changes, and you're returned to the Templates page with permission counts refreshed on the tiles.

Tips

  • Agencies, Providers, Products and Brand Themes lists now load up to 500 results, so you shouldn't need to click "Load more" for most networks.

  • Each entity list and the "Selected Templates" list are capped to show 10 rows at a time with a scrollbar, so the action buttons at the bottom of the modal are always visible.

If you already have a template set up with the right agencies, providers and products, you can copy its permissions onto other templates instead of rebuilding them manually.

Steps

  1. Go to Template Manager → Templates, filter by Brand, and select the template(s) you want to permission.

  2. Click Assign Bulk Permissions in the tools module.

  3. In the Assign Permissions side modal, choose Copy from a Template.

  4. Enter the ID of the source template — the one whose permissions you want to copy.

  5. Click Copy Permissions.

  6. The permissions from the source template are applied to all of your selected templates. Depending on the amount of templates you have selected, the system may take a few seconds to apply these changes.

Good to know

  • This copies the source template's current permissions at the time you run it — later changes to the source template are not retroactively applied.

  • Use this when onboarding a new template for a brand that already has a well-configured "reference" template.
