Troubleshooting Your Stabilizer

How to update the stabilizer's Firmware

Updated over a month ago

First step: Take a deep breath! 😊 : We will get to the bottom of this, and you will be back filming amazing videos in no time.

Second step: Read this article, "Troubleshooting Your Stabilizer." It covers some common stabilizer issues and how to fix them.

Third step: If you still have issues after watching the video, download the "DJI Mimo" app from the App Store! It looks like this:

Realync Gimbal/Stabilizer Recalibration Steps:

  1. Charge the Osmos

    1. They take about 1 hour to charge fully

    2. When they are fully charged, the battery will disappear from the panel

    3. Don’t leave them charging more than 1 hour

  2. Start configuring the Osmos!

    1. Look at the Serial Number and remember the last two numbers/letters

  3. Attach your phone to the Osmo

    1. Please take the case off your phone

    2. Place one of the magnetic phone clamps on your phone

  4. Open the DJI Mimo App, then turn on the Osmo by pushing and holding the M button on the front until all the battery icon pops up.

    1. Make sure your Bluetooth is on on your phone

  1. On the Mimo app, tap Connect on the top of the screen when it pops up.

    1. If the connect button isn’t popping up right away, you might have to click on the little camera icon in the top left corner to see what devices are available to connect to

    2. If your phone is not connecting to the Osmo, you might have too many devices in your Bluetooth setting on your phone. Go to “Settings” and “Bluetooth,” and then you will see many different devices under “My Devices.” Go through and click the blue “i” icon, and click “Forget this device.” This will help free up room for your phone to connect to more Osmos. Don’t do this for your personal devices (EX: Speakers). Only go through and forget past osmos that you have already programmed.

  2. The app will then display a list of Osmos. Select the one with the same last two digits as the Osmo you’re working with.

  1. You will get a firmware update request; go ahead and run.

    1. You should be automatically taken to a camera, and in the left-hand corner, a yellow box requesting a firmware update will appear.

    2. Click on that yellow box and install the firmware.

  1. Once the firmware update is complete, you can press the “Done” button. You should be taken back to your camera.

  2. If your stabilizer is still having difficulty and is less than a year old, please email support@realync.com to exchange it for another. If your stabilizer is over a year old, please use this link to the Realync Store to purchase a new one.

If you have any remaining issues, please contact support@realync.com with any questions.
