We're excited to announce that we have completely rebuilt the way you submit your music. Our new release flow makes the experience of creating new releases much faster and smoother.

Aside from a new design that gives it a fresh look, you can now save your progress in small steps. You no longer need to wait until your artwork or final mixes are ready to start creating your release. Just fill in all the details you have and come back later with your assets - or vice versa!

We've also added some new features. Now you can connect your release to your Apple artist profile and you can reuse the same metadata for multiple tracks. And our new Pre-release Checklist gives you a simple overview of what still needs to be done.

Let's take a look at some of these new features:

Start anywhere, launch anywhere

The updated Record Union release process allows you to begin crafting your release from any device.

Don't worry if your artwork isn't complete yet! You can still start entering your release information.

Feel free to work on your release while you're on the bus, at the park, or in the break room—anywhere inspiration hits or when you have a few spare moments. You can save the details you’ve entered and easily return later to finish up on a different device.

Everything is conveniently located in one spot, no matter where you are. There’s no app needed—just log in to your Record Union account!

Pre-fill Same Metadata As

If you're uploading a release where multiple tracks share the same credits, you can now reuse the same metadata. There's a new dropdown in the metadata view called the Pre-fill same metadata as. Just choose an existing track from the list.

You can use all the same credits as another track, or use that track's metadata as a starting point and just change what's different.

Connect Your Apple Artist Profile

Music services have tracks from all over the world, so it's inevitable that some artists might have similar names. Connecting your release to the correct artist page ensures that your release appears in the right place on Spotify. Now we're offering the same connection for Apple Music.

In just a couple clicks, you can find and connect your music to the correct Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles. If you don't have an existing artist page yet, you can skip this step and we'll tell those platforms to create a new page for you.

Progress Bar

When you're creating a new release, now you'll see a dark blue progress bar at the top of the page. You can quickly see how complete your release is and how much more you need to do.

It expands when you click on it and shows the different steps involved in submitting a new release. Click on any step to go directly to what needs to be done, or to review what you already entered.

There's more on the way!

There are so many details involved in creating a release and we’re committed to continuously simplifying that experience.

Our team is hard at work developing new features that will further streamline the process and add even more functionality.

If you have any feedback, please feel free to reach out to us at support@recordunion.com.

*These improvements are in the beta phase and are not yet available for all customers. We will launch these new features for all customers in the very near future.
