What are Phone Statuses?

Phone statuses allow you to track which phone numbers are Correct, Wrong, No Answer, DNC or Dead. Knowing the status of the phone number helps you to quickly follow up with leads, since you’ll know which phone number is correct and saves you time so you don’t continue to call and attempt to market to wrong and dead numbers.

For more information on phone statuses, check out the Phone Status Overview help center article.

Filtering with the Phone Status Combination Filter

From the Records page, select Filter Records towards the top right, and click Add new filter block.

Add the list or other criteria included in the campaign.

Add the Phone Status Combination Filter Block.

Select All phones or At least one phone at the bottom of the filter block.

All phones will filter property records in which every phone number has a status.

At least one phone will filter property records in which at least one phone number contains or does not contain the statuses you select.

Next, select the phone status(es) you want to filter by. You can filter to exclude certain phone statuses by selecting Do not include.

Some Use Cases of the Phone Status Combination Filter

Filter by Records that are Exhausted

From the Records page, select Filter Records towards the top right, and click Add new filter block.

Add the list or other criteria included in the campaign.

Add the Phone Status Combination Filter Block.

Select All phones then DO NOT INCLUDE Correct, Correct_DNC and No_Status.

INCLUDE Wrong, Wrong_DNC, No_Answer, Dead and DNC.

Please notes that the Exhausted Owners > Yes filter will achieve this same result, but the phone status combination allows you to customize this filter as needed. Check out the Exhausted Records article for more information on this filter.

You can combine this filter with marketing attempts, for this example I included 5 or more call attempts.

Then click apply filter and you will see all records that are exhausted by this criteria.

You can then decide if you would like to skip trace these records again, send direct mail, or begin deep prospecting. You can change the property status of these records to Exhausted and then determine what you would like to do next.

2nd Exhausted Records for a Second Skip Trace

If you would like to send exhausted records for a second skip trace you will want to filter by the records that are exhausted and have only been skip traced once.

From the Records page, select Filter Records towards the top right, and click Add new filter block.

Add the list or other criteria included in the campaign.

Add the Property Status Filter Block and Include Exhausted. (If you changed the status on the previous step).

Add the TAGS Filter Block and INCLUDE your first skip trace tag and DO NOT INCLUDE your second skip trace tag.

Then click apply filter. You will then be able to export these records and send them for a second skip trace. When you update these records in REISift after skip tracing, make sure to include your new skip trace tag.

Determine which numbers return NEW numbers after a second skip trace

To determine which records returned with new numbers,

From the Records page, select Filter Records towards the top right, and click Add new filter block.

Add the list or other criteria included in the campaign.

Add the Property Status Filter Block and Include Exhausted. (If you changed the status on the previous step).

Add the TAGS Filter Block and INCLUDE your first and second skip trace tags.

Add the Phone Status Combination Filter Block.

Select At least one phone then INCLUDE NO_Status.

You can then apply this filter and see all records that returned with numbers after the second skip trace. You can then change the property status of these records so they can enter back into a marketing campaign.

Find records that have NO NEW numbers after a second skip trace.

To determine which records did not return with new numbers,

From the Records page, select Filter Records towards the top right, and click Add new filter block.

Add the list or other criteria included in the campaign.

Add the Property Status Filter Block and Include Exhausted. (If you changed the status on the previous step).

Add the TAGS Filter Block and INCLUDE your first and second skip trace tags.

Add the Exhausted Owners Filter Block and select YES.

Apply this filter to see all records that did not return numbers after the second skip trace. You can then change the property status of these records so they can enter into direct mail or deep prospecting.
