If you've never been issued an SSN or ITIN, you can still apply. The application has a checkbox to certify this.
How to certify
On the page that asks for your SSN/ITIN, check the box that says:
"I certify that I have not been issued an SSN (Social Security Number) or ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number)."
Once it's checked, you can leave the SSN/ITIN field blank and continue.
What this means for your screening
Without an SSN or ITIN, some parts of the screening — like a credit history check — may not return results. The property manager will see this and decide how to proceed.
If you do have one
If you have an SSN or ITIN, please enter it rather than checking the box. Falsely certifying that you don't have one when you do can affect this application and future ones.
