Why was my payment declined?

Common reasons a card payment fails and what to try.

If your card was declined, here's what to check.

The most common causes

  • Card details typed incorrectly — double-check the card number, expiration date, CVC, and ZIP code

  • Insufficient funds — make sure the card has enough available balance for the full fee

  • Bank flagged the charge — your bank may have blocked the transaction as suspicious. Check for a text or app alert from them, and approve the charge if asked.

  • Prepaid or virtual cards — some prepaid, gift, or international cards aren't accepted by our payment processor

What to try

  1. Refresh the page and try again

  2. Use a different card if you have one

  3. Check with your bank to make sure they're not blocking the charge

  4. Try on a different device or browser
