If you can't log into your bank during income verification, the issue is usually one of a few common things. Here's what to check.
Double-check your username and password
Make sure you're using your online banking login β not a different login for the same bank's mobile app or other services. Some banks have separate logins for personal vs. business accounts.
Two-factor authentication
Most banks require a verification code sent by text, email, or an authenticator app. Watch for the code and enter it within the time limit. If you didn't get a code:
Check your phone or email β including spam
Confirm the contact info on file with your bank is current
If your bank uses an authenticator app, open the app to get the code
Account locked or suspended
If you've tried too many times with wrong credentials, your bank may have temporarily locked your account. Wait 15-30 minutes, or reset your password directly with your bank, then try connecting again.
Bank temporarily unavailable
Sometimes the connection to a bank is temporarily down (during a maintenance window, etc.). If everything else looks right, wait a few minutes and try again.
If your login still won't work
Try connecting through your payroll provider instead β if your employer uses a major payroll system (Gusto, ADP, Paychex, etc.)
Or upload income documents β pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements
