Overview
You can now add before and after photos to any treatment or package in the Admin Panel. Those photos appear on the listing in the Patient App so patients can see typical results before they buy.
When you upload a photo, RepeatMD auto-tags it with demographic details it can see in the image (such as age range and gender). In the Patient App, photos are ordered so the most relevant matches show first, based on the patient's own profile (age, gender, and other demographic info on their account).
Before You Start
You need Marketing, Manager, or Administrator access.
Have patient-consented before and after photos ready. Use the same angle, lighting, and framing for each pair so the comparison is easy to read.
A diverse set of photos works best. Auto tags and ranking work better when you include a range of ages and genders, not only one look.
Treatments and packages must be enabled for your practice.
Why It Matters
Patients are more likely to purchase when they can picture themselves in the result — not a generic stock photo. Adding before and after photos:
Builds confidence on the treatment or package page in Shop
Shows results they would resonate with the most based on similar demographics, instead of making them swipe past unrelated examples
Saves your team from manually sorting photos for every patient
Works on both treatments and packages from one upload flow
How It Works
Add photos on the treatment or package in Admin. Each photo is auto-tagged as soon as it uploads with gender, age and skin tone.
In the Patient App, the listing shows before and after photos with the closest demographic match first. A 42-year-old woman sees photos tagged similarly before photos of a much younger or older patient. Other photos are still available — they just appear later.
If a patient's profile is missing age or gender, photos still show. Ranking is just less personalized until that information is on their account.
Changes go live on the listing after you save.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to your Admin Panel.
Open Services → Treatments or Packages.
Select the treatment or package you want to edit. (or create a new one).
Find the Before and after photos section.
Upload a before photo and an after photo. Edit or crop as needed.
Wait for auto tags to appear. Confirm age range, gender, and skin tone, and edit them if needed.
Add more pairs if you have them. A mix of demographics gives more patients a relevant first photo.
Save the treatment or package.
Check the patient view
Open the Patient App and go to Shop.
Open the treatment or package.
Confirm before and after photos appear.
Sign in as (or use a test patient with) a known age and gender and confirm the first photos are the closest match.
Best Practices and Pro Tips
Use only photos you have permission to show. Get written consent before uploading patient images.
Keep before and after shots consistent: same distance, lighting, and pose.
Review auto tags every time. If a tag is wrong, fix it — the Patient App uses those tags to decide order.
Match the photo to the listing. Botox results belong on Botox, not on a body contouring package.
FAQs
Q: Where do patients see these photos?
A: On the treatment or package page in the Patient App Shop. The most relevant photos appear first based on the patient's demographic info.
Q: What are auto tags?
A: Tags RepeatMD applies when you upload a photo — age range, gender and skin tone, based on the person in the image. They drive which photos show first. You can edit them.
Q: Do I have to tag photos myself?
A: No. Tags generate automatically. Review them so ranking stays accurate.
Q: How does "most relevant first" work?
A: The app compares auto tags on the photos to the patient's profile (age, gender, and other demographic details on their account) and sorts closest matches to the top.
Q: Can I add photos to both treatments and packages?
A: Yes. The same flow is on both listing types.
Q: Is this the same as Linked Images?
A: No. Linked Images are the listing's gallery or hero photos. Before and after photos are the result comparison set, with auto tags and demographic ranking.
Q: I uploaded photos but don't see them in the app.
A: Confirm you saved the listing, you're looking at the same treatment or package, and the listing is published (not archived or draft-only).
Q: Can I remove or replace a photo later?
A: Yes. Open the treatment or package, update the before and after photos, fix tags if needed, and save.
