Send event invitation text messages (Admin Panel)

Learn how to use ready-made SMS templates and send event invitations to opted-in patients through Text Messaging in your Admin Panel.

Overview

RepeatMD provides sample text copy for open houses, anniversary events, and seasonal promotions. Paste a template into Text Messaging, customize the date and details, attach your shortened app link, and schedule the send.

This article is for marketing staff and managers promoting in-person events to your app user base.

Before You Start

  • You need Admin Panel access to Text Messaging (MedCommerce Engine).

  • Patients must have opted in to marketing texts. Event invitations follow the same broadcast rules as other manual texts — all opted-in users at the selected location(s) receive the message.

  • Set up a shortened link to your RepeatMD platform URL before sending. See Shorten your URL with Bitly.

  • Replace bracketed placeholders ([DATE], phone numbers, [LINK]) with your event details before scheduling.

Event invitation texts help you:

  • Fill open houses and VIP nights with patients already in your app ecosystem.

  • Save copywriting time with proven templates you can adapt quickly.

  • Drive RSVPs and app visits using shortened links back to your branded app.

How It Works

Templates are starting points: Copy a template below, personalize it, and paste it into a new Create text message campaign.

Manual send flow: Event invitations use the same Text Messaging workflow as other broadcasts. See Send text messages (Admin Panel) for compose, preview, test, and schedule steps.

No segmentation: Like all manual texts, event invitations go to all opted-in app users at the selected location(s).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Send an event invitation text

  1. Choose a template from Message templates below and copy the text.

  2. Replace [DATE], [XXX-XXX-XXXX], [LINK], and other placeholders with your event details.

  3. Log in to your Admin Panel and open Text Messaging under MedCommerce Engine.

  4. Click the orange lightning bolt → Create text message.

  5. Paste your customized message.

  6. Attach your shortened app link (with or without a CTA).

  7. Name the campaign (for example, Open House March 2026).

  8. Select valid location(s) if applicable.

  9. Preview, send a test message to your phone, and click Schedule.

Best Practices and Pro Tips

  • Send a test message before every event blast.

  • Include a clear date, time, and RSVP path — phone, link, or both.

  • Schedule reminders — send a save-the-date a week out and a day-before reminder as separate campaigns.

  • Match in-app messaging — pair the text with a Discover card or Special Offer for the same event.

  • Use your shortened app link so patients land in your branded experience, not a generic URL.

Common Mistakes and FAQs

Q: Can I send event invites only to patients who RSVP’d last year?

A: Not at this time. Manual texts go to all opted-in app users at the selected location(s).

Q: Do I need a Bitly link?

A: You need a shortened link to your RepeatMD platform URL. Most practices set this up with Bitly during onboarding. See the Bitly setup article linked above.

Q: Where do I actually send the message?

A: In Text Messaging under MedCommerce Engine. See Send text messages (Admin Panel).

Q: Can I customize automated event texts?

A: These templates are for manual broadcasts. Automated offer and Custom Plan texts are system-generated and cannot be edited. See Set up automated text message sequences (Admin Panel).
