Updated over 5 months ago

When You’ll Use This Article:

  • Clock in or out for the workday

  • Confirm whether your hours were recorded

  • Understand how productivity is calculated

  • Review how your clock-in data affects reports

Overview

The Clock In/Out feature records your worked hours so your DOR and enterprise teams can track productivity, labor reporting, and compliance.
Depending on your facility’s setup, clock-in data may come from:

  • RESTORE-Insights Clock In/Out

  • An external payroll/timekeeping integration (HostedTime, Paylocity, Empeon, Smartlinx, etc.)

Your workflow remains the same either way—your hours appear in the same reports used by DORs and enterprise leadership.

  • Go to the left navigation menu.

  • Select Clock In/Out.

Step 2 — Confirm Your Facility (If Applicable)

Step 3 — Select “Clock In”

  • Click Clock In.

Productivity Basics

RESTORE-Insights calculates productivity using two primary components:

1. Total Worked Hours

Pulled from:

  • RESTORE Clock In/Out or

  • Imported punches from your payroll/timekeeping system

2. Daily Note Minutes

Minutes are counted from:

  • Submitted Daily Notes

  • Group and concurrent sessions

  • Recertification or evaluation treatments (when applicable)

Productivity Formula

(Total Billable Minutes ÷ Total Clocked-In Hours) × 100

Key Rules & Behaviors

  • You must clock out to complete your workday.

  • Clock-in data cannot be adjusted by therapists or assistants.
(If hours are incorrect, notify your DOR.)

  • The system auto-clocks users out at midnight if still clocked in.

  • Productivity includes submitted minutes only.

  • Clock-in/out is required for:

    • Productivity reporting

    • Labor reporting

    • Department analytics

  • If your facility uses a payroll integration, imported punches override manual clock-ins.

Common Questions

Why don’t my hours appear on my productivity report?

Hours will not appear until you clock out or until payroll integrations send the punch data.

Why is my productivity low?

Productivity reflects minutes from submitted Daily Notes only. Save-only notes will not count.

Can I edit my clock-in time?

No. Clock entries are locked to maintain compliance. Your DOR can assist if something needs correction.

Do I need to clock in if we use an external payroll system?

Your facility will tell you if in-platform clock-ins are required. Many integrated customers still use RESTORE clock-ins for therapist visibility.

Troubleshooting

  • If Clock In/Out does not load:

    • Refresh your page

    • Log out and back in

  • If you can’t clock out:

    • Confirm you are logged into the correct building

  • If hours look incorrect:

    • Check with your DOR—entries may be coming from a payroll integration

  • If productivity appears off:

    • Confirm all Daily Notes for the day were submitted
