Setting Up Return Shipping Cost
If you want to charge customers for return shipping, you can configure this directly in Returbo.
This setting allows you to automatically deduct a return shipping fee from the customer's refund when a return is processed.
You can also:
Set the fee in multiple currencies
Choose whether to refund the original shipping cost
Add custom return costs such as handling fees
A video tutorial is included below showing the full setup.

Go to Settings

Standard Return Shipping Cost
The Standard Return Shipping Cost lets you apply a default fee that will be deducted from the customer's refund when a return is processed.
Note: This fee only applies to returns and complaints and is not deducted for exchanges.
How to enable it
Enable Deduct standard return shipping cost from customers
Select the currencies you want to apply the fee to
Enter the return shipping amount for each currency
Once enabled, the amount will automatically be deducted from the customer's refund when the return is processed.
You can also adjust the amount manually for individual returns if needed.
Click the pen icon to edit the return shipping cost.
Select the currencies you want to enable.
Enter the return shipping cost for each currency.
Setting Return Shipping Cost in Multiple Currencies
If your store supports multiple currencies, you can define a return shipping cost per currency.
For example:
Currency | Return shipping cost |
SEK | 59 |
EUR | 6 |
DKK | 45 |
This ensures customers are charged the correct return shipping fee based on the currency used in their order.
Only currencies supported by your store will be visible here.
Refunding the Original Shipping Cost
You can also choose whether the original shipping cost from the order should be refunded. This allows you to align the return flow with your store’s return policy.
Custom Costs
Returbo also allows you to configure custom return costs.
This can be useful if you want to apply additional charges such as:
Handling fees
Processing fees
Other return-related costs
These costs can be enabled and applied when needed during the return process.
I Can't See a Currency (for example NOK)
If you cannot see a currency such as NOK, EUR, or DKK, the most common reason is that the currency is not enabled in your Shopify store.
Returbo only displays currencies that are supported by your store.
For example, if NOK is not enabled in Shopify, it will not appear when setting the return shipping cost.
How to check this
Go to Shopify Admin
Open Settings
Click Markets
Select the relevant market (for example Norway)
Check which currency is enabled
Once the currency is enabled in Shopify, it will automatically appear in Returbo.
