How does manual shipping label generation work in Returbo?
If you'd rather choose the shipping option for each return yourself, instead of having Returbo generate a label automatically, manual generation gives you that control. This guide explains what manual generation means, where to find the setting, and how it works day to day.
What Manual Generation Means
When manual generation is on, Returbo won't create a shipping label the moment a customer registers a return. Instead, the return request lands in your dashboard so you can pick the shipping carrier and product yourself before the label is generated.
This is useful if you have more than one shipping carrier activated and want to decide, case by case, which one makes the most sense for a given return.
By default, manual generation is turned on whenever you activate a shipping carrier. You can switch to automatic generation any time if you'd prefer Returbo to handle it for you.
Where to Find This Setting
Go to Returbo app > Settings > Integrations > Shipping.
Find the shipping carrier you have activated.
Under Autogenerated return shipping slips, choose one of the following:
Autogenerate return slips: Returbo creates the label automatically.
I prefer manual generation: you choose the shipping option yourself for each return.
Click Save.
How Manual Generation Works Day to Day
Once manual generation is on, here's what happens when a customer submits a return:
The return request comes into your Returbo dashboard with a status of Request submitted.
Open the request and select which shipping carrier and product to use for that shipment.
Returbo generates the shipping label based on your selection.
Manual Generation with ShippyPro
If you're using ShippyPro as your shipping integration, manual generation works a little differently:
You choose which shipping option to use for each return, just like with other carriers.
You can also see the price of every carrier product you've activated in ShippyPro, so you can compare options before deciding.
