How to Add a New Language to Returbo

How do I add another language to Returbo so my customers see the return form and emails in their own language?

If your customers speak different languages, you can turn on additional languages for your digital return form. Once a language is active, Returbo can automatically show the form in that language based on your customer's device settings, and your customers get emails in that language too.

This guide walks you through turning on a new language, plus what else you'll want to update so everything stays consistent for your customers.

Turn On a New Language

  1. Go to your Returbo app > Settings > Customization.

  2. Scroll down to Customer language support.

  3. Select the language(s) you want your return form to be available in.

That's it. Once a language is turned on, it's ready to use.

How Language Display Works

A few things to know about how this feature behaves:

  • Returbo shows the return form based on the language set on the customer's device, not their location. For example, if a Norwegian customer has their phone set to Swedish and Swedish is turned on in Returbo, they'll see the form in Swedish by default.

  • Customers can always switch the language themselves if the form doesn't show their preferred one.

  • The return form is always available in English, since English is Returbo's default language.

  • You can select a default language to show if the customer's device is in non of the languages available.

What to Update After Adding a Language

Turning on a language only changes the return form itself. To keep everything consistent for your customers, you'll also want to update:

Translating Custom Return Reasons

If you've set up custom return reasons, you'll need to add translations for these separately.

  1. Go to Returbo app > Settings > Request settings > General.

  2. Scroll down to Return reasons.

  3. Select Edit reason.

  4. Scroll to your custom reasons, then click the three-dot menu next to the reason you want to translate.

  5. Select Edit reason.

  6. Add your translation.

  7. Click Save, then click Save again to confirm.
