A guide to help you manage which great reviews get shared on your Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages. Learn how to stop old reviews from auto-posting and how to manually share your favorite new ones.

✨ When You Need This Guide

This guide is your go-to resource for managing how patient reviews appear on your social media pages. Use this if you're asking:

  • "Why are old reviews from last year suddenly posting to our Facebook page?"

  • "How can I stop old reviews from being posted automatically?"

  • "I want to limit auto-posting to only share reviews from the last 30 days."

  • "I just received a great 5-star review and want to share it to social media right now."

You'll Need:

  • Your Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn business pages must be connected to your Aloha account.

What This Covers (And What It Doesn't)

  • βœ… This article explains how to manage both the automated and manual posting of your existing great reviews to your social media pages.

  • ❌ It does not cover the initial setup of connecting your social media accounts to Aloha. For that, please see our guide on Connecting Your Social Media Accounts.

βœ… How to Stop Old Reviews from Auto-Posting

This setting allows you to set a "lookback" period, so the system only shares recent reviews automatically. This is the solution for preventing old reviews from appearing on your timeline.

  1. Navigate to the Post Reviews Page. In your Aloha account, go to FEEDBACK > Post Reviews.

  2. Find the Auto-Post Limit. Look for the dropdown menu labeled Auto-post Limit.

  3. Select Your Timeframe. Click the dropdown and choose your desired timeframe from the list (e.g., 2 weeks, 6 months). To turn off auto-posting completely, you can select a "Disabled" or "Off" option.

  4. Save Your Settings. Click the Save Facebook Settings (or Save Instagram Settings, etc.) button to apply your changes.

    • What to expect: From now on, the automated system will only select and post reviews that were received within the timeframe you chose.

πŸ’‘ Common Questions

What You Might Notice

Why It's Happening

What to Do

I set the limit to 1 month, but I think a slightly older review was still posted.

The setting changes may not have saved.

Double-check that you clicked the Save Settings button after changing the dropdown. When you refresh the page, your updated settings should be present.

I'm trying to post a review, but I am getting an error.

Your social media account is likely disconnected from Aloha. The connection needs to be re-authorized periodically for security reasons.

Go to the Gear Icon (βš™οΈ) > Integrations page. Select the Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn option from the dropdown menu under Other Integrations and follow the prompts to sign in and reconnect your account.

Can I edit the review text before I post it?

No. To maintain authenticity, the review text cannot be altered. The system posts the review exactly as the patient wrote it.

The only options are to post the review as-is or not to post it.

πŸŽ‰ You'll Know It's Working When:

  • Your social media pages stop showing old reviews and only display recent ones that fall within your selected timeframe.

  • You start seeing your recent reviews posted to your social media.
