Sales Report by Product

The Sales Report by Product helps you analyze the performance of each product individually. It enables you to identify top-performing and most profitable products, aiding in decision-making related to supplier purchases, promotional planning, and efficient inventory management.

Accessing the Report

  • Navigate to:
    Reports > Inventory > Sales by Product.

Report Details

Use the search fields at the top of the page to filter by product name, SKU, time period, branch, category, or supplier.

The report includes the following data:

  • Product Name.

  • SKU: Unique identifier for the product.

  • Supplier, Brand, Category: Details as defined in the product information under Inventory.

  • Location: The branch where the product was sold.

  • Sales: Total sales value, excluding tax and returns.

  • Cost of Goods Sold: Direct purchase cost of the product.

  • Gross Margin: Sales minus COGS.

  • Sales Tax: Total tax amount.

  • Sales (Tax Inclusive): Total sales value, including tax, minus returns.

  • Markup: Calculated as:
    (Retail Price−Product Cost)/Product Cost(Retail Price-Product Cost) / Product Cost(Retail Price−Product Cost)/Product Cost.

  • Margin %: Calculated as:
    (Sales−COGS)/Sales(Sales - COGS) / Sales(Sales−COGS)/Sales.

  • Sold Quantity: Total quantity sold without deducting returns (e.g., sold 10 units, returned 1 unit, quantity sold remains 10).

  • Returned Quantity: Total quantity returned by customers.

  • Purchased Quantity: Total quantity purchased for the product, based on purchase invoices issued through the platform.

Exporting the Report

To export the report:

  1. Click the three dots in the upper-right corner of the page.

  2. Select xlsx to download the report as an Excel file.

1. Can I view sales for a specific product at a specific branch?
Yes, select the product name in the search field and the branch in the location field.

2. How can I view all product sales across all branches from the start of my sales activity?
Leave all search and filter fields blank to display all sales data.

3. Can I view sales for a specific category?
Yes, select the desired category or categories in the category field to view data for those products.

4. How can I identify the top-selling products?
Sort the Sales column:

  • First click: Sorts from highest to lowest.

  • Second click: Sorts from lowest to highest.

ℹ️ Clicking any column allows sorting in ascending or descending order.

5. Can user access to this report be restricted?
Yes, follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings > Users > ⚙️ > Edit User.

  • Navigate to User Permissions > Reports > Report List and enable Read.

  • Expand Inventory Reports and locate Sale By Product.

  • Enable the necessary permissions.

  • Click Save Custom User to apply the changes.
