Onboarding checklist

Follow these steps after onboarding to get up and running quickly

Updated over a month ago

Note: make sure you have completed the provisioning checklist first.

Welcome to Salesbuildr! We're excited to help you get started with our platform. Here are the 5 main topics we will cover during the first onboarding meeting:

1. Apply your company branding

To align Salesbuildr with your brand, go to Admin > Site Information. Key elements to update include the logo, main color, and fonts. For details on how these changes will appear in your portal and client documents, refer to this article.

2. Adding your team members

When team members log in with their SSO credentials, they will appear under Users > All Users. Use the pencil icon to assign them the appropriate permissions. For details on permission levels and potential billing implications, see our article on Users and permissions.

NOTE: If your Microsoft Active Directory is set to require admin consent for apps with SSO, follow these steps to approve Salesbuildr as an authorized app.

3. Review Your Portfolio

With Salesbuildr’s PSA integration, all products, services, and labor are synced directly from your PSA. To start with a clean, optimized portfolio, follow these steps. For more details, refer to our full article on portfolio review.

Quick Checklist:

  1. Set Up a Category Strategy
Configure standardized markups for each category to automate pricing. Use the category markup option to set general markups for subcategories or customize by individual category if needed. This strategy simplifies pricing by automatically applying these markups to products in quotes.

  2. Clean Up Legacy Products and Data
Filter and 'unlist' outdated or end-of-life products that are no longer relevant by checking which items are not found in any connected distributor’s catalog. This step prevents these products from appearing in proposals and keeps your portfolio up-to-date.

  3. Enrich Product Information and Enable Dynamic Pricing
Enable dynamic pricing to automatically sync distributor updates for cost prices, ensuring Salesbuildr reflects the latest distributor pricing along with your defined category markup. To remove outdated explicit prices, use filters to clear any explicit cost or sales prices. This allows Salesbuildr to apply real-time updates and enriched product details like descriptions and images where available.

These steps will create a clean, organized, and dynamic portfolio that automates pricing updates and enhances proposal accuracy.

4. Setup your templates

As part of your onboarding we added starter templates based on the samples you sent us. Feel free to tweak these templates. Use this article to go through the basics on how to edit your templates and widgets.

5. Setup your email-templates

To align outgoing (Customer facing) emails with your brand; change the provided templates by going to admin > e-mail. We recommend changing the signatures and external e-mail notifications. The external (Customer facing) templates are the best place to begin your edits.

With these 5 steps completed, you'll be ready to use Salesbuildr!
