App Crashes or Won’t Load

If SDS Mobile™ crashes when you open it, freezes mid-use, or won’t load at all, work through the steps below in order. Most issues are resolved by a force close or reinstall.

Step 1 — Force close and reopen the app

Before trying anything else, force close SDS Mobile™ completely and reopen it.

iPhone

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle (or double-press the Home button on older iPhones) to see open apps. Swipe the SDS Mobile™ app card up to close it. Then tap the app icon to reopen.

Android

Tap the square Overview button (or swipe up from the bottom) to see open apps. Swipe the SDS Mobile™ card off the screen to close it. Then tap the app icon to reopen.

Step 2 — Check your internet connection

SDS Mobile™ requires an internet connection when logging in and when searching for SDS sheets. If you are in a low-signal area, the app may appear to freeze while waiting for a response.

Connect to Wi-Fi or move to an area with a stronger cellular signal.

Try opening the app again.

Step 3 — Restart your device

A full device restart clears temporary system issues that can cause apps to crash. Power your device off completely, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on. Open SDS Mobile™ after the device has fully restarted.

Step 4 — Update the app

Running an outdated version of SDS Mobile™ is a common cause of crashes, especially after a device OS update. Check for updates:

iPhone: Open the App Store → tap your profile icon → scroll down to see available updates.

Android: Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Manage apps & device → Updates available.

Install any available SDS Mobile™ update and try again.

Step 5 — Update your device operating system

SDS Mobile™ supports iOS 14 or later and Android 8.0 or later. If your device is running an older OS version, the app may not function correctly.

iPhone: Settings → General → Software Update.

Android: Settings → Software update (location varies by manufacturer).

Step 6 — Delete and reinstall the app

If the app still crashes after the steps above, delete it from your device and reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play Store. Your account and downloaded SDS sheets will be restored when you log back in.

Important: Deleting the app will remove SDS sheets downloaded to your device for Offline Mode. After reinstalling and logging in, you will need to re-download your binders via Offline Mode before heading to a job site without connectivity.

If the app continues to crash after reinstalling, contact our support team using the chat icon below. Please include your device model and operating system version (e.g., iPhone 15, iOS 18.2).
