AudibleSDS™ Not Playing

If AudibleSDS™ is not playing or is not available, work through the causes below.

Full access required — AudibleSDS™ is a full-access feature.

Important: AudibleSDS™ requires a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection to read safety data sheets aloud. It does not work in offline mode.

Cause 1: No internet connection

→ Fix

AudibleSDS™ requires an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection to function. Check that you have a signal. If you are in a low-connectivity area, move to a location with better coverage and try again. AudibleSDS™ cannot play audio in Offline Mode — even if the SDS is downloaded to your device.

Cause 2: Free account — AudibleSDS™ not available on your plan

→ Fix

AudibleSDS™ is a full-access feature and is not included in the free version of SDS Mobile™. If you are on a free account, the AudibleSDS™ icon may appear but will prompt you to upgrade. See the Free vs. Full Access article for details on upgrading.

Cause 3: Language not set — audio plays in wrong language or not at all

→ Fix

AudibleSDS™ uses your Language Setting to determine playback language. Go to Menu → Settings → Language and confirm your preferred language is selected. Return to the SDS and try again.

Cause 4: Device volume is off or set to silent

→ Fix

Check that your phone volume is turned up and not set to silent or vibrate-only mode. On iPhone, check the mute switch on the left side of the device. On Android, use the volume buttons to raise media volume.

Cause 5: Audio is playing through a connected Bluetooth device

→ Fix

If headphones or a Bluetooth speaker are connected to your device, audio will play through them rather than the phone speaker. Check your Bluetooth connections and disconnect if needed, or use the connected device to listen.

Cause 6: App needs to be updated

→ Fix

An outdated version of SDS Mobile™ may have issues with audio playback. Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android), search for SDS Mobile, and install any available update. Then try AudibleSDS™ again.

If audio still does not play after working through all of the above, contact our support team using the chat icon below. Let us know your device model, operating system version, and which SDS you were trying to play.
