Common questions about HazMat Inventory in SDS Mobile™.

How are my inventory scans synced to KHA?

When you are connected to the internet, SDS Mobile™ attempts to sync your data each time you scan a product barcode and take photos. For best results, scan while connected to a strong WiFi or 5G connection so the app can send the information to KHA as you go.

What happens if my device loses internet connection while scanning?

The app saves the UPC barcode data and product photos directly on your device, and a No Internet Connection message appears at the top of the screen. Keep scanning as usual. Once your connection returns, the app automatically attempts to sync the saved data.

How do I scan items if I’m working in an area with no cellular service or internet connection?

Sign in to the app first, then put your device in Airplane Mode before you begin scanning. The app saves the UPC barcode and photo data to your device. When you finish, you can close the app until you can reconnect and sync. See the HazMat Inventory: Scanning Offline article.

What do I do with inventory items that show a status of Unsynced?

Unsynced means the UPC barcode and photos have not yet been sent to KHA and are still stored on your device. Connect your device to the internet (WiFi or 5G), open SDS Mobile™ and go to the HazMat Inventory screen. The app automatically begins syncing, and items change to Synced once they have been sent to KHA. If syncing does not start, see How to manually sync data from your device in the HazMat Inventory: Sync Inventory Data article.

What do I do with inventory items that show a status of Synced?

Synced means the UPC barcode and photos were successfully sent to KHA. Once all items show Synced, you can use the Delete button to clear the list. See Removing synced items from the sync list in the HazMat Inventory: Sync Inventory Data article.

What does the Export button do?

Export downloads the UPC barcode and photo data from your device into a .zip file that can be shared with KHA. Use it only as a last resort, after all other sync methods have failed. If any items show a Failed status and will not sync, contact KHA immediately at support@kha.com. See If items will not sync in the HazMat Inventory: Sync Inventory Data article.
