Airplane Mode vs. connected scanning

Airplane Mode

Connected (LTE / 5G / WiFi)

Advantages

Fastest scanning. All barcode and photo data is stored on your device, so nothing uploads between items.

Barcode and photo data is sent after each item. As long as your device never loses connection, there is nothing to sync when you finish.

Disadvantages

Requires at least 9 GB of free storage. If the device drops below 9 GB, you must sync and delete Synced items before scanning more. File sizes grow quickly on large inventories, so sync throughout the day if you can.

Slower scanning, because data uploads after each item. If the connection drops, the app stores data on your device and you will need to check that all items have synced.

Note: If you plan to work in a remote location with limited or no internet connection, remember to log in before you go.
