FAQs

Do I need to connect Xero to Sellar as well as Breww/BrewMan?

Instead of connecting Xero to Sellar connect Breww or BrewMan

No, you do not need to also connect Xero to Sellar if it is already connected to a Brewery Management system such as Breww or BrewMan. Doing so will create duplicate invoices, one from Sellar and one from Breww or BrewMan.

You should connect Breww or BrewMan instead of Xero. See our guides here:

When will orders go to Xero?

Orders will go to Xero at different order statuses in Sellar depending on their payment type.

Orders will appear in Xero as invoices depending on the payment type the Buyer uses at checkout:

  • Proforma, Offline Credit and Stripe - When the order is finalised

  • Sellar Credit - When the order is dispatched

Which account codes will my products use in Xero?

It is all based on hierarchy, with how you have things set up in Xero.

  • If you have a specific account set up, we will post to the account associated with the product

  • If there isn't one associated with the product, we will post to the account associated with the Customer

  • If there isn't one associated with the customer, the integration defaults to an account code Xero created for us named 'Sellar Income'

How do Sellar Credit orders work with Xero?

These will appear slightly differently from other orders in Xero due to the self-billing arrangement we have set up.

  • This invoice will be allocated against a customer contact called “Waffle Tech LTD”. If this is the first Sellar Credit order, we will automatically create this customer contact in your Xero account.

  • The Sellar Credit fee will be added to the invoice on Xero as a deduction and categorised as the Xero nominal' ‘404 - Bank Fees’

  • If you need to raise a Credit Note for a customer you must raise it in Sellar. As orders are invoiced to us and not directly to the customer, we will generate two credit notes and do all the work for you. (see how Credit Notes work here)

How do I disconnect Xero?

If you want to disconnect Xero completely or change the company, you can do that in the Integrations page.

  1. Head to your integrations page in Sellar. This can be found by clicking your name in the top left of Sellar and then Integrations.

  2. Use the 'Configure' button next to Xero.

  3. Use the 'Disconnect' button and follow the onscreen typing prompt.

To reconnect a Xero company, use the set-up guide here.
